What if humans do something so tragic to the scale of sending their world into a blaze of fire and darkness? The only choice is but to escape the world after setting loose a nightmarish creation to push an agenda. Certain doors are meant to be closed forever to avoid catastrophe as everything will be destroyed. The appropriate fear strikes you as a reminder to how close we are to turning the knob. To put it simply, the song sounds like a funeral for humanity as a whole Unity and peace my friends.

Has anyone noticed there is a subtle difference in the music of the openings in ep 2 vs. ep 3? In one version, the singer's voice is slightly distorted in the beginning and end of the song as though coming through an old radio; in that same version, the lines "pulling you from the sky, just like love will do" is repeated twice at the end. In THIS version of the song, there is no vocal distortion, and instead of the previous line mentioned being repeated, this version alternatively has the lines "Every step, every beat, every thought, every breath, everything is longing" (which IS in the other as well but) then "every wind, every wave, every sky, every cloud, every blade, is longing" (which is NOT included in the other version of the song) I wonder if these were just two versions of the song they couldn't choose between so they used both, or if there's more to it than that, like the song is gradually becoming more whole.

At the same time, there is a kind of tranquility to the destruction. A tension of endless source that had been building in humanity since they became such, a repressed will, finally released, and the tragedy and remorse flow in and provide a kind of clarity that seemed impossible before. Then, the consolation of knowing it's over. No more struggle. No more survival. Rest.
Best opening ever.

Hes just the director he didnt write the story, he brings the artistic vision into cinematic view. It frustrates me when people credit him entirely for things. ALIEN(1979) would be nothing without Dan O'Bannon as the writer, or Blade Runner with writers Hampton Fancher and David Peoples. Yes Ridley Scott is an amazing director but Raised by Wolves wouldnt exist without Aaron Guzikowski. Dont just talk up scott, talk about the amazing writers, not just directors.

Think its using footage from one of the nuclear tests, inverted but redone with hand drawn animation
This would make a great intro for DUNE if it was a series instead of movie.
I really wish we got to see more of the war on earth. I guess it paints the picture in the intro sequence and earlier scenes in the show. It looks like they based those nuclear explosions off real test footage from the 1950s.
Yo, I won’t even lie.... this song bout made me cry when I was fukked up...
Well picked. This is the best version of it from episode 2. it starts more quite and she starts singing before the explosion is shown.
This song woke emotions i never knew i had
It's like a beautiful hopelessness.
very unique opening. It's fitting for a sci-fi apocalyptic show. Very exemplary creation.
I can’t believe I’ve been skipping this intro.

the intro is so fitting.
Haunting, love it.
Even though the song was only written for the title sequence to the show, I think Mariam Wallentin and Ben Frost made something mysteriously etheric and cosmic that needs it's own full length recording.

Anthem for 2020
I fell in love because this fucking music
I did you upload 360p video in 2020? Why not 144p?
Probably the best intro I have ever seen. The skip button has lost it’s meaning when it’s on.
The opening feels surreal, empty , desolate even there's an spectacular feeling to it like not happy for sure but from watching the series I can see how it was highly inevitable 1 side was religiously too devout be lead astray my power hungry men and the other was being backed further and further in a corner the opening just summarized everything like Rome's end .
The images make me think of Soviet art as much as early 20th Century science fiction.
This is so Ridley Scott
