ridley knows who to cast when it comes to female leads, from prometheus, alien trilogy and now raised by wolves, 😍

I'm impressed how Amanda Colin portrays 'Mother'. Her acting is that of a clinical, cold calculating, lethal machine that is gradually developing complex emotions.

There are many differing opinions on this show, but there is no denying her acting skill. Phenomenal. 👍👍👍

I just finished the last episode. it's certainly one of the best si-fi shows. Fabulous acting, really great cinematography and originality of the story are the few of the reasons u should give it a watch 👍🏻

I finished the first season with more questions than I started with.😂😂😂

She's incredible

I found her to be the best part of this show, can't wait to see more of Mother...Amanda Collin was made for this role.

This show is fantastic. I really hope it continues beyond one season.

This series brings science fiction themes into the realm of cosmic horror. It feels like a parallel to Scott's 'alienverse' (I wonder if he hates that term).

They're the only good characters on the show, everyone else is mediocre or terrible. The child acting is abysmal. The human adults are caricatures.

Mother is just awesome

She kind of spooks me. Guess thats the point.

She should have never given up her eyes.

Well the writers wanted her to loose her eyes and that's what happened. Not surprised. Right before she looses her eyes, she was attacked while she was in the simulation, any rational person would keep her eyes on them and not replace them with other eyes. She wasn't dangerous when she was caring for the kids in the first episode but, suddenly became extremely dangerous after, gimme a break. I just gave up after she looses her eyes and after reading that she doesn't get eyes back, just cemented my opinion that this series was no good. But, I guess in future episodes she will have her eyes back through some miracle writing just because the plot needs it. Overall the first episode was like 7/10 and then the rest of the series was like a 3.5/10. Ridley Scott should say 'she is a Necromancer only when we need her to be' and I wouldn't be surprised if in future Ridley Scott says something kryptic like 'there are two necromancer's on Kepler 22b' Somehow Travis Fimmel's character (Marcus) escapes death each time, each f*ing time.

@@alexmathayes1 I believe there is more too it than simply losing her eyes depriving her of full necromancer powers. When the girl approaches her in the ship Mother screams at her and there is clearly some necromancer juju going on from the screams effects. I predict she will regain her weaponized form later in the series after the 'baby' is born - I think the eyes are not in fact necessary but rather a Mithraic engineers attempt to limit their power in case of a necromancer going haywire/rogue as with Mother.

Love this show. Really great. Season 2 next.

I loved season 1. The duality of every theme leaves the viewer with more questions than answers. Cannot wait for the next season!

Amanda is perfect as Mother, great casting from Ridley Scott... Well the show as a whole is great, and the episodes past by me flying... EP 10 is comming but i really want 10 more!!! :)

The best shoe in last decade. Quite impressed with story line, acting, picture and atmosphere!

I just saw the 10th episode this last episode made me cry like I just lost my Mother and Father I feel like campion felt.

Best sci-fi TV show ever made.

This was a great watch with a so unique storyline and breathtaking cinematography...it opens with a stunning 1st episode, gets alittle loopy near the end but its a great ride... seeing Ragnar in the cast was a treat! Its almost as if he were Still playing his role in vikings...of course, they made him get insane, just like vikings LOL

This show was GREAT

The kids are also really good in this, the Indian girl who is pregnant, Paul the son of the two imposters, the little Asian girl with the bangs is adorable, and of course Campion. These are actual intelligent and great roles for children - some of the best I have ever seen in any movie or TV and they do a great job.

The snake part surprised me initially but then I immediately connected that to the different sizes of large snake-like skeletons all over the scenes in different episodes. Still kinda likie xenomorphs since the showrunner mentioned that it's because of the different hosts that they have varying forms. Still, with more reveals come more questions.

The most interesting scfi on the small screen since bsg, and the most cinematic since blade runner 2049

Good point, but concerning the strong female lead and the plot, it has more in common with BSG's underrated prequel Caprica (a woman's digitized mind grabs the body of a centurion and becomes the first sentient cylon).

*And now the 2 year wait starts* 😔

Amanda should have been cast in 'Alien Cavenont'...oh well...

This is hands down the best sci-fi show of the last decade with the Expanse. I hope they continue to deliver in the following seasons. They have some problems with naming things though. Like "Necromancer" as some people pointed out. And the series title, "Raised by wolves" ?

I remember a line from the series about Romulus and Remus, who according to the myth was raised by wolves and founded Rome. Maybe Romulus and Remus is represented by Campion and Paul and the wolves are mother and father.

And the meaning of Necromancer changed over time, later meant anyone who performs powerful black magic, which is quite fitting for Mother's powers.

I think it was purposefully made to maintain loose ties. The story seems close to the direction Ridley wanted to take the Prometheus-Covenant arc, atleast in terms of themes. Alas, there was too much baggage that came along with the alien franchise and its fractured and withering fanbase. In glad we get to explore some more with RbW.

Please, who knows what is the meaning of the word "necromancer". Translator says it is a magician, a warlock. But I assume that the meaning is diffferent

In ancient Greek, nekrós means corpse, and manteía means prophecy; so it meant evoking the spirits of the dead to obtain their knowledge; later it meant performing any sort of powerful black magic.

Somehow I wasn't scared by her, I rather envied Father and the children for having such a protector. Just don't mess with her and you don't need to be scared. ;-)
