LYRICS:
Please, choose! HELL! or HELL?
HELL! or HELL? Which do you (like?)
Hey, listen up
Are you prepared to make an enemy out of us?
(It serves you right!!!)
You're all anachronistic brain men
Like pathetic little doggies, always barking all yap yap yap
HELL! or HELL? Which one do you want?
"It's too late to be sorry!!!"
(You! I'll never die! I'll never die! I'll never die!)
Hey! Come on!!!
(You! I'll never die! I'll never die! I'll never die!)
Our words'll be seared into your mind until the day you die
You'll regret it now
I'm not afraid. (I'm ready.)
You shut up!!!
The most important thing (Wow wow)
Is that I don't distort myself even if I die
(If you sell me an argument) Oi!!! Oi!!! I'll gladly buy it
You'll fall into our trap if you press your luck (Wow wow)
You'll learn the laws of karma in this world
You've asked for your just desserts, so here's a taste now
Please, choose! HELL! or HELL?
Is it really alright for you to be the only one feeling good?
When you've got some nerve?
(You drive me nuts, Yeah!!!)
If you apologize, it'll all be OK?
If so, the policemen are just needless Yo! Men!!!
HELL! or HELL? Do you want both?
Please help yourself!!!"
(You! I'll never die! I'll never die! I'll never die!)
Hey! Come on!!!
(You! I'll never die! I'll never die! I'll never die!)
Taking on such morons is just a waste of time
Here and now, say your goodbyes
I'm not afraid. (I'm ready.)
Won't give in!!!
Listen to what you really think (Wow wow)
Don't let yourself get swallowed up by your rage
(They have their own point of view) Oi!!! Oi!!! But don't meet their eyes!
You don't have to obey (Wow wow) all their absurd orders
(I'll put an end to this charade) No problem, right now
Please, choose! HELL! or HELL?
Hey!!! I know that life's so hard, it's such a shame
It's like the world is some kinda impossible game
Hey!!! But still, I can't die, I've gotta stake my claim
If I don't do it, then who'll do the same? Ha!!!
Hell! or (Hell?) Hell! or (Hell?) Hell! or (Hell?)
Which do you like?
Hell! or (Hell?) Hell! or (Hell?) Hell! or (Hell?)
Soon this era will be ours for the taking!
The truth is found in silence
So close (your eyes) and open your ears
I'm not afraid. (I'm ready.)
You shut up!!!
The most important thing (Wow wow)
Is that I don't distort myself even if I die
(If you sell me an argument) Oi!!! Oi!!! I'll gladly buy it
You'll fall into our trap if you press your luck (Wow wow)
You'll learn the laws of karma in this world
You've asked for your just desserts, so here's a taste now
Please, choose! HELL! or HELL?
HELL! or HELL? Which do you (like?) x4
Please, choose! HELL! or HELL?

RAISE A SUILEN are so cool, especially this song is a lot of fun. Their live performances are ususally way better than the recorded versions imho.

Just love the bassist Raychell's singing, she is an awesome vocalist, deep and interesting. Like the bands mix of music as well. Maybe a bit poppy (but still heavy elements) but despite that unlike often in the west the members are all excellent on their instruments

This is Anime music. The Vocalist / Dj is actually in character. All the members of Raise a Suilen are voice actors in the Bang Dream anime series. So there is a lot going with this band. This track has some clear anime elements in it. Anime music is a genre of music in its own right. It can take some getting used to but the the time is worth it.

That actually makes a lot of sense, though I'm glad we didn't read up on them before. It kept the reaction fresh and more about the music. While I (Itai) have liked some Anime over the years, I can't say I watched a lot of it. I guess at some point we reach a time where we can't go deep into everything. Lol. But that sounds like a great concept, Anime music. Sounds quite niche. Like I said, as the song went, it kept growing on me more and more and I did enjoy it. A very interesting band indeed... Thanks again for the request and the awesome support! MUCH appreciated! 🙏

Just more background. Raise a Suilen is part of Bandori which is a multi media project that spans anime, manga, music, videogames, TV shows, etc. The band was originally called the 'third' referring to the fact that they were formed as the third live bandori band. Poppin Party and Roselia were the first two. Unlike the first two bands whose members were voice actors first and musicians second, Raise a Suilen had a much stronger musical background because their original role was to be the live backing bands for the Bandori bands that did not have full live bands for the live concerts. They later were given their own anime characters and written into the anime as Raise a Suilen. Since then, two more bands have been formed, Morfonica and MyGo! As mentioned, the musicians are also the voice actors for their respective characters on the anime. None of the Bandori bands write their own music and perform on the records. They mainly play live and perform the voice acting and other promotional duties. I do respect the members because they have to have both musical skills and be able to do the voice acting and other activities like performing in a live show. Riku Kohara who plays the character of Lock (plays the Strandberg) paid her dues when she was in the band Sketchbook as did Natsume the drummer. Natsume was in a band with Tomo-zo of Gacharic Spin a long time ago (high school I believe).

Good summary. Raise a Suilen have a very interesting back story. Raychell released a solo album this year under her own name. The lead single is on KZread and well worth listening to.

@@myindieprodentertainment Bandori is referred to as BanG Dream for English audiences. it was founded as a Manga, and the bands were assembled to mirror characters in the manga. It is sort of crazy that there is so much talent floating around in Japan that a comic book franchise could just assemble a band this good, but in fact they currently have NINE such bands.

My first time listening to them, though the I've heard the name before. The bassist sounds a lot like Maki Oyama. Having listened to Japanese rock and metal for several years the blending of genres seems 'normal' to me now. I'll definitely look for a few more of their songs.

We actually find the blending of genres interesting and at times even exciting. I (Itai) just noted than in a first-time listen, I picked up on the fact that (for me) the blending of rock and j-pop are a mix which might take a little getting used to in spots and also that I liked it more as the song went along and ultimately, I did like the song and do look forward to hearing more from this band, so we are on the same page with this one 😉 Thank you, for once again taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated! 🙏

Just a general comment. The female anime voices heard in Raise a Suilen tracks are not as far away from real female voices as people might think. Those of us who are fortunate enough to spend time in Japan may have noticed the young women sometimes have a unique and unusual timbre to their voices. Indeed the first time I encountered this, I was taken a back. The anime voices in the Bang Dream universe are of spoken by voice actors of course. The more time you spend in Japan the more familiar you become with the range of female voices. The creative use of Japanese voices types in anime and songs seems perfectly reasonable. The new Raise a Suilen single N-E-M-E-S-I-S features a repeating background vocal the sounds like a young Japanese female issuing a warning. It creates a horror film vibe gives the song great atmosphere. As some comments refer to problems with Raise a Suilen music it may be helpful to understand that each band member represents a anime character. Many of Raise a Suilens songs are linked to story lines in a anime episodes and as such have additional meaning to followers of the various series. Just to repeat, this is Anime music and the strong character links are a vital part of the overall entertainment package. To say that the character voices are a problem is perhaps disrespectful and unappreciative of the how anime music comes together. Listeners preference will always vary. However just because a different genre of music takes a listener outside their comfort zone doesn’t mean it needs fixing.

I (Itai) absolutely agree. As expressed in the episode, I don't have a problem with the voice in general. I actually enjoyed her rapping in the rest of the song and it was just one line that didn't quite sound pleasant to my ear. I also expressed that even that is subjective and is just my personal opinion. I don't see anything in their style as a "problem" in any way and definitely appreciate the talent of the band and respect their choices. I actually look forward to hearing more from this band as I easily recognize so many things that I love about them, even if this song, which I did like overall. Thanks again for the support, @DJAYPAZ. We truly appreciate it! 🙏

These festivals are BanG Dream only from what I understand, so I can almost guarantee you that everyone is there for all these bands or at least a couple of them. I have seen video of outside shows for the franchise and they are absolutely massive (I think it's hard to imagine how much money the franchise makes, it seems to be massive from what I can see). I believe the mobile gacha rhythm games were actually the originals before they added the anime/manga and whatever else but I might be mistaken. Most of my info is second-hand info from my sister over the years since she plays the rhythm games and watches the anime. But she mainly loves Roselia (one of the other bands in the series), so she has less info about the other bands. It's also not really for me, but I have a lot of respect for the people involved in all the bands, it must take a lot of dedication and work to do these performances especially since most of them weren't even professional musicians (Raise A Suilen were though). There are also digital only "bands" in the franchise, but it seems like they are mainly adding real ones nowadays with a new one Ave Mujica being close to revealed (they are still wearing masks now from what I understand).

Great info! Thank you! We agree as to the respect part. This band displays a lot of talent. Also, it seems that some viewers responded to the slight criticism I (Itai) had, but totally missed all the praise we heaped on the band and the fact we actually loved the song. I just didn't like the delivery of that specific "Hell or Hell" line. Everything else was great! The band is very talented and we look forward to covering more of their work in the future. Thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated! 🙏

Hate to admit it - but I agree with Ital 😂😂😂 To be honest if you took away Dj's parts and had Raychell as the lead singer to me it would be a vast improvement ( but I suppose their success has been built on this formula - so why change a good thing )

It was really mostly that one line that I (Itai) didn't like, but I get it. The kawaii-style of singing, which for lack of knowledge of the subject, we refer to as the "baby voice", is an acquired taste and at the very least takes some getting used to. We have heard it before when used by bands like Hanabie and to a lesser extent Gacharic Spin, both bands we love, so it wasn't so much a criticism on that, but mostly that the specific "Hell or Hell" line did not sound pleasant to my ear. The rest of the song was great. As always, though, music is subjective so personal taste is what it is. We look forward to finding out more about RAS and their music as the band is very talented and fun. Thank you for once again taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated! 🙏

If you want a band that actually corrects the problems you have with Raise A Suilen, PassCode is what you want. They mix electropop with metalcore and have a harsh vocalist instead of a kawaii vocalist. The best place to start is either Groundswell or Freely.

Thank you for the suggestion. Much appreciated! Just to be clear, I (Itai) don't actually have a "problem" with Raise A Suilen. It was just one line that I didn't like the delivery of so much. The rest was great and I did enjoy it overall. As mentioned, there are other bands who use that style of kawaii vocals, Hanabie for example, which I LOVE. I enjoyed the same type of vocals here, just not in the "Hell or Hell" line. Thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated! 🙏

I have to agree with Itai on this one. There were parts I liked, and parts I didn't like. Loved their energy, really liked the lead singer's voice, and very talented musicians. I mainly didn't like the baby voice of the one girl. I'm going to reserve judgement on this band until I hear more from them. I'm not into anime, but I can see that this music would fit perfectly with it. Take care!

My friend. You first have to understand where this band is coming from. Raise a Suilen (RAS) are a part of the multimedia project called Bandori BanG Dream. They have anime, music, TV and videogames. The band members are literally the voice actors of the game and anime. The live band thing and music is the extension of the anime and game. You stating the chipmunk voice thing is not your liking maybe a valid point from a blank background but from their conceptual and the anime character she plays, it's totally a natural thing and I don't mind it a bit. By the way, I hate the chipmunk voices of a lot of Jpop music myself. Can't stand em. I just really like Raychell's (vocals) voice and her singing and Lock's guitar playing. However, RAS is a superb band. Granted they don't write their songs and that they are not organically grown (they are all hired members), I still enjoy their music immensely. Of all the bands within the BanG Dream project (there are like 10 of them), RAS is my favorite. The reason is that all the member (except the DJ girl Chiyu) are legit pro musicians with real music backgrounds.
