I've seen Rogan have guests on who worked for years on a book, and rogan didnt read a single page. And not only that, he immediately demands answers that come at the end of the book. I agree that you can tell Theo has put a good effort into trying to see what page Rainn is on right now in his career. Another comparison that comes to mind is tom segura having Quentin Tarantino on to speak about his new book. He didnt read a single page and barely even broached the subject of the book. He only had questions about his films. It would be like Theo having Rainn on and only talking about the office.

@@codirennke1109 I like Theo, he's entertaining, but I just can't get behind the idea that he's some profound interviewer. These episodes are 99% comedy in my opinion. For example, the John Mulaney episode was okay, but Theo didn't seem to know anything about him besides the fact that he was a former addict. At times it felt forced and awkward in my opinion. Also, claiming to have read something doesn't mean he actually did. In fact, I think the only specific question he even asked about the book was literally on page 1. Rainn called him out on it.

The only thing controversial I might be saying is that rogan is over rated as an interviewer. And a comedian. 😬 but that's off topic.

When he talks to Rainn about Rainn’a failure in his movie film and how Rainn always wanted more and what he had was never enough. The advice Theo gives him sounds like it came straight from an AA meeting about finding happiness and accepting yourself.

@@chriswest7639 absolutely! Its worth trying it out sometime if you come across a problem you're having difficulty with. The other aspect though, is the fact that society doesnt really hold much in the way of moral values. For me, this meant that when i got clean and became a decent person i was seriously let down because i was under the impression that most people were as well adjusted as people who've worked a serious recovery. The truth is, thats not at all the case. Most people i encounter seem to have backwards morals and no desire to improve themselves. Its like a race to the bottom, and personally i strongly dislike it

I love Rainn. The philosophy of boredom is one that I love talking about. Being a baby millennial, growing up without a phone, terrible dial-up, land-line phone, and pagers. I spent more time outside, drawing, reading, and running down the street to bang on my friends door. When I didn't, I usually just sat in my room playing with toys, or just being bored in general. But with the introduction of the internet readily at our finger tips....I have so much at my leisure to stave off boredom so when I am bored, it brings anxiety when it never did. Its sad. I've done so much to just...be bored. Sit there and just be. I wonder if my adhd kind of makes it harder to just sit and be bored with my mind, but I don't think so, maybe a little, but with social media and the dependency of it makes it hard to put the phone down. The Social Dilemma is my favorite documentary and interesting, highly recommend. What's even more sad, is it took me October 2023 to finally pick up a book again, when I haven't read in like 15+ years. I did it for fun. I feel for the younger generation not having a single moment of boredom, of silence, to just process the day and weigh their thoughts healthily. I empathize with both those who never had internet and then got it at the turn of the century, and then the ones younger who are 'ipad kids' and have brain rot. Being stuck in the middle gives me both perspectives and its interesting. Also the song Bored by Deftones is my favorite, so I use that as a device to get me hyped on just being bored. lol
