Top 5 classic style tenors: Johnny Parrack, Mack Taunton, Rosie Rozelle, Denver Crumpler, Dallas Rogers (recently with Dixie Echoes and Inspirations). Modern: Terry Franklin, Danny Fundeburke, Chris Allman, Wes Hampton, Chris Collins (Kingsmen in early 90s)

I know the difference very well, and I will shit all over the elitists who will place means before results in music. The point is the end result - if it sounds better, it IS better. True bass or vocal fry mix - whichever sounds better is the one I like better. JD sumner may be a better bass singer range-wise, but Ken Turner makes the rainbow of love sound better.

Señor Pevan than who? Deeper than JD Sumner???? Just for educational purposes , JD’s lowest note was a G0 whilst Ken’s lowest note is only a C1 but both are vocal fry so I guess you can compare who is a better bass singer based on tone and smoothness on going to the low notes but I’d personally prefer JD Sumner over anyone and George Younce then Big Chief Wetherington as well as Bill Gaither who doesn’t go very low because he is shy but listen to Low down the chariot and he goes pretty low for him on that song or at least from what I’ve heard.
