She's gorgeous. And the quality is off the charts. I never used to like to play with doll hair, and I've been collecting for many years. But with the rainbow high dolls my hand just goes straight to their hair and i find myself petting them all the time.

She looks so great! I love what you did! When I unboxed mine tonight, I immediately (gently) brushed through the gel. I usually wash everything out, but I just wasn’t feeling like waiting to play with her hair lol (impatient much???) I was figuring I’d curl her hair after I wash it this weekend, but now I’m thinking I might just try straightening it cause I LOVE brushing her hair. Hair play is one of my favorite things to do with my dolls - and rainbow hair is my favorite, which just easily put this girl in my top 5 :)

I actually prefer our Giant Amaya with curled hair....it really flatters the rainbow hair.

Maybe some straightening cream would help keep the moisture if you give it another go for that sleek look. But how fun is this? I want giant Amaya too but I'll end up kicked outta my house if I come home with her! 😂 ✌💙

I love they first Amaya 😍

You can wash winter break skylar's hair and then after scrunch her hair up and let it dry. And you can use hot water and it will go straight but all you need to do is scrunch it up. I use it for all my dolls that have curls.

I need to pick one up and see what size scale of clothes fit-- I'm thinking possibly one of the 'big' lines of BJD outfits might work, possibly the smaller SD-type clothes. She looks so fun though!

I am actually ** not really** surprised with how good they did,she’s like 5x the size as normal Amaya and looks just as gorgeous!

The hair on both your dolls looks great! I'm so scared to use a straightener on mine. I play with my Amaya doll S2 everyday. Mostly because both her outfits remind me of being a cheerleader and dancer in high school. I'm always changing between her cheer and sequin outfit and giving her different dance poses.

There is a couple BJD brands that have clothes that fit her! Just search for BJD's in the same size range :D

I gave my Amaya doll a cute lil Ari half up ponytail thing with the slick side bang and a lil braid tucked behind the ear

So awesome! I just got big Amaya and unboxed her yesterday. Since it’s not human hair, I will be using a clothes detergent like Tide and then finishing up with a soak in liquid fabric softener and rinse.

No no no no no no no no no no. It’s plastic, not fabric. And it’s not woven. That coats it in nasty chemicals and strips layers off in the case of fabric softener. Please do not recommend that to people. It’s fine if you want to do it to your dolls but it tears them to shreds.

18" doll clothes like American Girl usually work. Not every style looks great, like really tailored pants might not stretch enough over her hips and some blouses might be too big. You can't take her hands off, so avoid anything with a small wrist cuff.

I also got an Amaya, the large one. The top head is really spacey and I lost the parting. Can anyone help me?

Can this fix amayas hair if you boil washed it and it got fluffy and ruined?

It gets fluffy from being dry. If you boil it again and condition it, it should go back to normal

If I still ends up looking dry, leaving a small amount of conditioner in the hair and brushing it through thoroughly will help mask it but that’s not the ideal solution of course

The problem with boiling and using straighteners on nylon doll hair is that it literally is melting the doll's hair straight and this is what is going to lead to the lack of shine and frizzing. I do not recommend doing it, also I recommend using dish soap instead of human shampoo if you need to wash the doll's hair because the doll hair is nylon and not human hair follicles, the doll does not benefit from the shampoo vitamins and minerals Etc and also using conditioner will make the hair greasy..of course it is your doll and it is up to you but I do not recommend it as a doll collector myself..I have learned that heat tools will damage the hair UNLESS it is a heat resistant wig. (I collect bjds, and use heat resistant fiber wigs in most cases)

Up to you. I go with wet enough that it’s no longer dripping. I bought the straightener at a thrift store and it doesn’t have a brand name on it so idk

I don’t say because everyone has a different straightener. So my setting could melt your doll’s hair. Just start at the lowest and move up until it starts working. And then don’t go any higher

I washed and straightened my big Amaya dolls hair, it turned out great, thanks for the tip, and your dolls hair came out great.
