yeah it's pretty insane, most of the dolls if they have pockets, an 11" doll, the pockets work. The belts work. The hoodie strings pull. The buckles sometimes work. It's insane.

When you realize this doll was the mannequin in the Radiant Week project Amaya worked with Daphne on--the accessories being inverted from Daphne's necklace being a ring to the chain on her skirt being a necklace. They really thought out their "perspective" theme on this--MGA's design team included.

I have this doll so here's a quick tip: she actually has a crop tank top under her hoodie, honestly she looks so much more stylish and less tacky if you just take the hoodie off imo. I know you mentioned the hoodie/jacket combo being strange but never took off her hoodie, so just wanted to let you know she's got a shirt underneath. Also yes she was released right before the holiday shopping season, so you were right about her being a Christmas gift thing.

Negative Legend is making drinking coffee look like a celebrity rock star spotting and I'm here for it!

The skirt looks like she made it out of the old woven rug that my grandparents used own in the 80s.

This was fun! I agree about the size. It's fun on the one hand because you can add a lot of detail that would get lost on a smaller doll, but on the other hand they are freakin' huge. They take up so much space. Ye-Loli dolls also come in the 60cm (24 inch) size and even though I love them they're just so big. I still have an old Monster High jumbo doll too. It's great when there's a chance to display them, but otherwise storage is a bit of a nightmare.

It's been confirmed that they're going to release another big Rainbow High doll (the subreddit is good for keeping track of releases) so hopefully they will make more if they do well. Also, a jean jacket over a hoodie is actually normal, I don't think they're that popular but it's definitely a thing to wear a jean jacket over a hoodie.

My next "Autism special interest" is leaning towards sewing and fashion design... And as such I'm really tempted to create a skirt with a similar aesthetic style as the jacket.

The excess hair is the doll "shedding," and that is normal for dolls. The first time the doll leaves the box, it will shed a lot because of all the hair that wasn't rooted, but it should stop after a few times of brushing it's hair.

Fun story my mom got a doll for her like 5th or 6th birthday and one of her aunts got her a giant doll. Like it was 4 ft TALL (it was legit bigger than her)! She was so terrified of it that when no one was looking, she took it to the bathroom and destroyed it with a pair of safety scissors.

I'm excited for the Shadow High line coming later this year!

Amaya is pretty and the detail is impressive, but concerning large creepy dolls, nothing beats the Good Guys dolls from the Chucky films. Those dolls can pretend to be your friend, hold a weapon, and potentially kill you in your sleep.

Half of my time watching this was me gaping at Negatives amazing shopping outfit.

there’s already another giant rh doll in the works!! she’s probably already designed and in production with how long doll design and production takes, but mga has been doing big dolls like big bratz for years, giant amaya shows up in the show as a giant statue as well

Use nail clippers on the plastic tags, they grab the ends easily and won't damage the fabrics like yanking on them can! 😂 2. Every time you show her articulation and movement, I can't help but laugh. I can hear the little clicks in her body from the movement, and I just associate it with the sound of cracking bones (like from stretching).

I'm so glad someone else saw the Chanel inspo. The skirt and "RAINBOW" chain are both direct Chanel copies. The fabric of the skirt is unfortunately accurate - Chanel is the originator of grandma tweed.
