RAINBOW 131' (39.95m) Holland Jachtbouw J-Class Sailing Yacht for Sale

RAINBOW is a sailing yacht that is second-to-none. From her impressive performance and eco-consciousness to her luxurious comfort and style, she is truly unlike any other J Class. RAINBOW’s innovation and style have gained accolades in the industry. At the 2013 Showboats Design Awards, the yacht won the Naval Architecture Award for sailing yachts as well as was a finalist for the Interior and Exterior Design Awards for sailing yachts. In addition, RAINBOW won Best Sailing Yacht for 40m plus at the 2013 World Superyacht Awards.
This impeccable sloop sailing yacht was built by Holland Jachtbouw with naval architecture by Dykstra Naval Architects as a replica of the classic J Class yacht RAINBOW, which won the America’s Cup in 1934. The original RAINBOW’s hull was made of bronze plates on iron frames, while the new RAINBOW’s hull is made of aluminum to maximize the performance rules of the J Class organization.
Luxury yacht RAINBOW is the first J Class to have an innovative hybrid propulsion and power system. The yacht is operated on Hy-Store Li-ion batteries and a lightweight 50kw Hy-Gen variable speed generator combined with the 50kw main engine with an integrated flywheel generator to provide power. The sailing yacht’s batteries are able to be charged while sailing - lessening the carbon footprint. Furthermore, sailing yacht RAINBOW is an exceptionally quiet vessel, thanks to her innovative electric systems and floating interior.
She was built to participate in J Class racing as well as cruise and charter. The sailing yacht’s mast and boom are carbon by Southern Spars, the standing rigging is carbon fiber continuous composite EC6 and her running rigging is Dyneema. In addition, RAINBOW’s deck offers deluxe alfresco dining aft and forward.
RAINBOW’s interior showcases the classic ambiance of the Golden Age of Yachting. Raised and fielded mahogany panels offset by white walls and overhead, as well as lightly stained oak cabin soles, set the stage for this Art Deco setting. Marble, period light fixtures and other adornments reminiscent of the 1930s styling, create an upscale, elegant space. The interior was designed by Dykstra Design in collaboration with deVosdeVries Interior Design.
The sailing yacht’s raised deck salon provides impressive 360-degree views while lounging in protected comfort. A staircase from the deckhouse leads to RAINBOW’s main salon, which is ideal for unwinding after a fun day of sailing or entertaining guests. The area features dining for eight at a custom mahogany table, while opposite an L-shaped settee/daybed and cocktail table offer lounging and entertainment.
Eight guests are accommodated in RAINBOW’s three beautifully designed staterooms. The sailing yacht’s full-beam master stateroom features a plush, centerline queen-size bed with sofas, hanging closets and bureaus on either side. The stateroom is complete with an en-suite bath. The additional staterooms aboard include twin beds and Pullmans. The sailing yacht also offers accommodations for eight crewmembers.
To sail RAINBOW is a truly thrilling experience on the water.

Superyachts are all over the planet for sale. Big expensive motorboats, but still factory built floating hotel rooms. A J boat represents another time, when beauty and form, were melded into the fastest sailing yacht that could be built. The cost was never a concern. Later on, the 12's came into being as owning a J was over the edge even for the most wealthy syndicate.

Like 99.999% of people who look at these postings of awsome sailboats with outrageous price tags, it is for entertainment only. Normally, these 'extra-large' boats don't turn me on so much because realism sinks in, and I wonder if anyone needs so much volume floating in the water, and if a more compact boat, you know, 57 to 64 feet. isn't sufficient to sattisfy our fantasies. But this clip here seems to have done the trick making this boat seem perfect, despite its enormity. Maybe it was the conciseness, or the proper sound track, the beautiful food served by good looking women (we can pretend they own the boat and we are their guests, ok), or the fact this sailboat is absolutely flawless in its elegance and beauty. So I hear the tag is something like 8.5 million US, which is the going price for any ordinary apartment on the upper East side of Manhattan. Seems quite reasonable.

@MrJunkfood1111, right on dude 👍 LOL I know that your statement is sarcastic, but if your leisure budget could really so very easily cover 8 mill for the purchase of this vessel, which will also cost you in yearly insurance, maintenance and marina costs in the order of hundreds of thousands of dollars if not in the million dollar margin, I’m pretty sure you can pay a full time crew to sail her, maintain her for you and wipe your rear end for you whenever you decide to spend some time onboard for either day sailing of the coats of some phenomenal places on earth, or just at anchor in those breathtaking exotic anchorages usually reserved for the rich elites of this stinking world, right? I’ve got booted out plenty of times from certain beautiful anchorages whenever the big hotshots showed up with their multimillion dollar yachts and I found out that they get their way anywhere in this frigging world and you’ve gotta take it and shut you mouth if you don’t want some really serious trouble coming your way. They look at you and your old 40 footer sailboat you grabbed from a boneyard and worked hard at restoring and refitting it before you put in in the drink to sail her, like you’re nothing but a piece of a floating turd ! They (as in the crew because you almost never get to actually see the owner) hiss at you in the marinas every time you go by them towards your little assigned slip, and in some of the exotic anchorages, especially some places in the Med and the Adriatic off the coasts of Italy you get the boot, and especially in certain places around the island of Sardinia, if they don’t want any other vessel anchored in their field of vision. This was my experience in some “special anchorages” in the Med, but I’ve heard that this happens in other places around the world with these elitist scumbags. Well, most live onboard sailors usually go into shallower waters where these huge things with their 15+ foot draughts can’t really get close to, but if the anchorage is a popular one amongst these rich folks, you bet your ass that you’ll be invited to leave the place, although politely at first, then who knows? I never stuck around to find out what’s next because I’ve always got the feeling that they ain’t playing around with some working stiff who decided one day to get a floating bathtub with sails and go around the wold anchoring here and there till running out of supplies, them moving somewhere else with a day stop at some marina conveniently close enough to walk to a grocery store and maybe some marine suppliers too in case you need some parts or some crap for the boat. Anyway, now you know why I “spit with disgust” every time I see these huge multimillion dollar yachts and I know that their crews are only obeying orders like a bunch of little slaves ! Thank God that this crap doesn’t happen too often and in the majority of places you’ll almost never run into them, or at least they’re not in such a secluded place to the point that they can run off one or two little boats they don’t particularly like having around for some reason. If the place is full of boats, then they’ll keep on going somewhere else, or anchor in the deeper waters and put up with the smaller boats anchored closer to the shore in shallower waters. When leaving the anchorage you better keep a whole lots of distance between you and their boat if you don’t want some really nasty stares from their crew and some nasty communication on the vhf ch 16. When they come by you, if you’re anchored in a harbor close to the access channel where the marina traffic goes in and out, hold on to your ass because they take just enough space to clear your boat and give you a pretty good bounce in their wake to the point that it’s possible to drag anchor from the short repetitive bounce. LoL Nevertheless, these boats are awesome to look at !!! 🤓. Real works of art !

@@hereintranzit if i can afford to pay 8M in this yacht, then i should have at least 20M in my bank account, and if i have that amount of money, then yes i want some privileges and privacy, i don't want to hang out next to 15ft boat which his monthly income wont exceed $3000, i want to hang out next to another millionaire like me. this is everywhere not only in the sailors community. and the same would apply to the billionaires class, they would not want to hang around a little millionaires, they want another billionaire to hang around. this is life dude.

An experienced yatchsman can sail any boat single handed. I once saw a 5 ft.5 70 year old moor his 96 foot yatch alone in a crowded harbour. " is he alone over there, lugging around 6 ft fenders ?" Didn't need my help he said.. I did take my hat off and give it to the sea though. Never worn a hat since. I'm going to be that old man !
