It's late at night, you're exhausted, and lying in the back seat as you make your way home. With your head resting on the door you can feel the road. The car briefly lights up as the street lights pass by. Constant humming of the tires on the highway mixes with the sporadic sound of rain washing over the entire vehicle. Sleep never came so easily. Reminds me off trips with my Mother, Father and Sister. Long summer days hiking and then back in car with how you have described. Amazing times. I don’t have my Mother and Father anymore but thank you for letting me access some wonderful memories

I've heard this sound more than a few times! I've been between apartments or waiting on my financing to go through so I've slept in various cars I've owned over the years and the longest was a little over two weeks in the summer. I used the gym to shower but man, those early days seemed tough at the time, but looking back they were the best of times!

To people with anxiety : close your eyes, listen deeply to the sound of rain, breath in count to 5 , breath out count to five, do this as many times until you are calm or a sleep. Don't forget your are not alone, you are loved and you are special. I love you

Many years ago, I was a courier in Chicago, at the end of the day, when it was raining and traffic was heavy, I'd pull off, find a safe parking lot. And snooze listening to the rain, until traffic cleared. Good way to unwind after driving 110 miles in city and suburban traffic.

On my way home from the airport after a flight in the rain in the back of a limo getting dropped home with my sister nearly falling asleep is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
