Railways in Scotland 1991, 37s/47/Units.Crianlarich, Glenfinnan, Huntly.
Starting with a long shot of the Fort William steam service racing towards Glenfinnan we then drive to Crianlarich to catch the arrival of a double headed class 37 freight pass, before the arrival of 3 passenger services. A busy time for passengers as trains split. Next to see our steam pass over the Glenfinnan viaduct and views from under the structure. Note no other photographers present back in 1991. Final clips are Dunkeld for 37668/156 and Huntley with the signal box in the far distance.

you,ve now hit the railways closest to my heart. I have travelled on all of the Highland lines on services and on luxury 4 day wine n dine lad cruise trains. Have also done a lot from the car and lineside. Have even walked a little on the Glenfinnan viaduct which is now gonna cost big money as it is deteriorating. First ever, built of concrete . It is said that a horse and cart fell down one of the hollow piers and with no chance of rescue it bas buried alive and remains there today. Superb video mate great memorable viewing. thank you.

I just wish I'd taken more video, but " back in the day" having no mobile phones etc, we didn't know if a train was due. Are you getting used to the lockdown? Being active, like you and I, it's difficult to observe...............look after yourself...............all the best again Mike

I just wish I'd taken more clips back in '91.....YT didn't exist then, nor did I copy them onto DVDs

Hi Mike I love the sound of the clsaa37/47 locomotives it remember you of the class47/4 locomotives on the stranraer harbour to London euston boat trains at stranraer harbour and class37/47 locomotives on the stranraer harbour to Glasgow central sealink livery boat trains in the 1980s mate stay safe and well mate goodbye for now clive
