Words cannot describe the plethora of thoughts that went through my brain when I saw you here lol. So excited, but also not going to get my hopes up at all, because a *certain other game* taught me that lesson the hard way.

No plans for early access, beta or demo versions of the game... "Our plan is to release a quality product". That's so refreshing to hear :)

I love the simplicity of the Locomotive control UI Simple, doesn't take up alot of space, and looks good

Great Job Matt, looks very promising.. but please, add derailments otherwise you will kill the concept of consequences: "if you perform bad = you have consequences! If I over speed through a sharp curve and don't end in a ditch.. it's not so much of a railroad simulator. I hope you will seriously consider this, even because it's chained to the equipment failure feature! Just think.. i don't do maintenance= my brake pump start to work very bad... i still don't do maintenance=my brake pump works even worse=i don't manage to slow down on a grade= derail= loss of money! As bad as I want to get into this right now, it's going to be worth the wait. My goals and the teams goals seem to be almost in full alignment which is very exciting.

i love when a dev team works together and doesnt rush a game, they want quality product, then half done junk product. Im going to watch this and hopefully buy it when it comes out, already put it on my steam wishlist

I mean....all it needs is some form of track editing (either seperate map maker, acessible for workshop modding or in game) and you'll have the perfect Railroad game imo. Absolutely gorgeous game so far though, cant wait to replace rro with it! 🙂

This game deserves way more attention and support! 🤠 Railroading and trains is one of the most underrated interests and hobbies in the world, and is often overlooked.

To be fair Railroads Online is already doing narrow gauge and they have a very diverse and detailed roster as well as industries and eventually passenger lines for you to run, but they said they definitely don’t want to anything standard gauge. I’d say it’s pretty fair if Railroader just sticks to standard gauge

I can't wait for this game! I know you said they're either maybes or not planned, but firing, narrow gauge, and player customisable maps are things I'd love to see post 1.0! But I do really appreciate the commitment to releasing a quality game first and not getting swamped by feature-creep. Thank you for your hard work!

Career railroader here and life long video gamer, am so thrilled to see this game. Ran across it by mistake the other day, so very much looking forward to seeing it come to further fruition! Cannot wait to pitch in and give it a go, in whatever form it is first given to us in.

Stumbled across this game, and actually looking forward to it.

'Adam The Creator'. Love it! Rap name for a train sim dev! This game has my full attention and higher hopes the genere will move into the leading edge of gpu abilities! Adam, please focus on those little details in the sim, like accurate particle effects and sounds. The experience is amplified via the immersive details. Valves leaking water, steam coming out in more than just the stacks, dark black smoke, grey, white... You can be the first to get it right! 😏 I see you already have some of that in the works! You can't see my smile either, but trust me, smiling ear to ear. Just such a beautiful game so far!

Finally, a developer that understands an agile framework for software development. The product owner in me is super excited for this project!

A hyce soundtrack would be fantastic. I'm excited about all the details.

I'm a 3ft narrow gauge nut. I know you said probably no NG but since you're basing this game in North Carolina, a Tweetsie map would be awesome.

You could have dual gauge with ET&WNC which would make operation that much more challenging. I hope that railroad becomes an option in the future!

@@bryanhoell5886 yes have the ET&WNC narrow gauge route and have Elizabethton as the dual gauge section for interchange.

Definitely love how you all are not rushing I believe this will be great game I Definitely will be standing by and following the development

I hope there is a map builder so you can design your own track layout. But this looks great.

Hi all! Having only stumbled upon Railroader today on KZread I am watching all their videos of the game. I am absolutely stunned by what I have seen so far, the games graphics are beautiful, the modelling of the roaling stock is fantastic and I think more importantly; you have, i humbly suggest, captured by the 'play' of the game that dream of railroading, be it a shunter, engineer, dispatcher etc! Thanks! Can't wait 8) Hypothetically, the potential for 'expansions' onto the exisiting railroad map or any other areas and even gauges! ...a make believe narrow gauge line running lumber or ore to the exisiting or additional maps. I'd buy!

Yeah, I can tell they are putting a lot into it, though would be cool to put more vegetation visuals. But what other game do you mean?

I would like to pass an idea I've wanted to see for awhile. I was wondering if we could have a selection of whistles or "tune" our own whistles for are trains. (Like your personal project 6 chime) 3-4-5-6-7 chimers. I like six chimes on big engines, so did the SP with its AC-9s having six chimes, and the GN with its R-2s having 7 chimes, and the Rio Grande in a few photos having a 5 chime in place of the hooter or three chime. I say this since although a lot of people may not care or like the stereotypical whistles, I prefer to have more musical chimes, I don't prefer hooter whistles and three chimes are frankly overused. I like SP six chimes and similar whistles because they make a great sound but also give personality like on a 4-8-2 or 2-6-6-4.

I cannot wait to play this is everything I have been looking for in a actual train simulator

I don't care about the graphics (Which are nice, don't get me wrong) as long as the steam locomotive runs like a steam locomotive

if its possible you should put in a proximity chat or some sort of communication for multiplayer so that people can talk in game or have that decision.

This is awesome cant wait to pre order this one

All I have to say is....Yes, please! I'll definitely be in line to buy it when it releases. Admittedly going to be playing single-player most of the time, so being able to play offline would be nice.

I would love to see the talented modders of this World incorporate some steam trains that while they may not be from this era or region, would still greatly fit in which the aesthetic. Some of my personal favourites include the LNER Class A1/A3 and the LNER P1/P2.

honestly im hoping 3ft Narrow Gauge comes to this game in the future. standard gauge steam is fun and cool in its own right, but 3ft narrow gauge has a specific charm to it....so hopefully we could get a Rio Grande map and/or Uintah map as an update or DLC. also i hope the whistle quilling gets expended on cuz you can tell who youre approaching by how they quill and its a cute little form of art that no one talks about cuz u can be as basic or as fancy as you want. also for ingame chat, setting up and Arma radio system with frequencies, like 82 is dispatch, 69 is crew, etc.

I am looking forward to the further development of this new game. Looks like they got some ideas from Railroads Online. Wonder what locomotives they will put in. There’s different railroads that went through the Appalachians back in ‘40s and ‘50s

The base game would be great, also with jobs to earn currency or experience to handle more tasks, also mabie later in the future add a separate basic map builder or track adder for workshop addons.

Also with the steam whistle can you make it so it reacts to how you operate the handle or the rope so you can create your own personalized whistle.

@@railroader I'm not asking for a whole reskinning feature, but if you do add more diesels, it would be cool if you could chose like 3 or 4 different paint scheme options.

I'm going to add a +1 for firing. Otherwise, what's the difference in running a steamer over a diesel? Still, I am very intrigued!

Will there be older, used locomotives for sale or only fairly modern bought-new equipment? Will there be maintenance and upkeep costs?

Beautiful game! The graphics are beautiful, and there is so much detail on everything. I can’t wait to see where this game goes. I really do hope it doesn’t become like a certain game that came out quite recently though.

Wow! I have always loved the Ulster and Deleware RR of the Catskill Mountains and and curious to know why you choose Ashokan Mohonk and Western? I am a big fan of Catskill Mountain railroads and have all the John Ham books and the Gerald Best book. I was a member of the UDRR Historical Society and have a ton of data about the U&D. I would love to help out on this project as a historian. Unfortunately I don't code or model 3d objects.

I think I just came up with a idea on how you could fix derailments in the game add in brake down trains which do exist in real life

I really wish the game was free on its first day, that'd be an great deal, i mean if you want, i just want this game, it's the definition of joy and excitement in an railroad game, and if it costs too much, i sadly wont be getting it.

You don’t need an ai fireman. Just have like. Idk a knob you twist to turn the fire sim on. Otherwise default off. besides filling black spots would be fun enough and Slashing the fire when you get wheel slip. maybe clinkers form when you slash to much. ..mmm time debuff to steaming cap idk

It's more a question of what's a good fit for this game - different games have different priorities. As well as the trade-off: if we add derailments, what do we cut? Or do we push the release out further?

@@railroader well I'm just saying if u want to do that. I mean derailment is a main thing every train driver has to deal with . And u can just add a retailer tool . Derail valley has one as well. But I'm an fine with it not being in the game. I mean I definitely like the job system u guys want in and u have more on release . It also looks really good . I think I will play it . Also it coversna different era. Rro is set im the 1940s or whatever. Sry I misjudged the game . It looks really good. And I love the quality product mindset

Hey guys can we get some controller support other than the rail driver? I dont want to use my mouse, keyboard is ok but some of us have sticks and throttles and pedals it would be great to use them.

I have every single train sim on the market, run 8 is great but extremely ugly and very hard to learn and no mods, train sim world, good looking but extremely limited, no mods, also you have to buy dlc to have more options and that sucks. Loco shortline operations is fun not as a train sim but a train game that is rediculous lol. A huge issue in the train sim community is dlc is 40 bucks per item and nothing gets changed or updated, none of the sims let modders get in and build the game out and just being limited in general it sucks i want to be able to build mods and not have to spend 1200 bucks on a train sim they make me buy the same one every year like train sim world or train simulator series. Please dont be like those guys.
