Railfanning Galesburg 6/30/24
It's been seven years since our last visit.
It's been a long time since we've last been to Galesburg and today we have found our way back to the Burg to do some railfanning on the last day of Galesburg Railroad Days before our next big outing the following day. The main goal for this outing was to try and get some of the Warbonnet working some of the trimming jobs at the yard as well as getting some shots of BNSF 720 on display at the Amtrak Depot as well as CB&Q 3006 at the museum and it was overall a productive day. those dash9s are certainly quieter doing pull downs, but they sure needed a new coat of paint. i find it odd they didnt at least wash off 720 since it would be on display.

This is kinda sad but I’m telling everyone in other videos of the ex ATSF warbonnets that they have captured over the years even almost passed 30 years so if someone could do a fundraiser to at least save a ATSF dash 9 and a ATSF C40-8W and I know there’s already an B40-8W gong back to its original color scheme which is the Warbonnet but before time runs out on the Dash 9s and the left overs of the C40-8Ws hopefully someone or somebody or a Railfan can saved a dash 9 and a C40-8W and put it in a museum because I don’t want my 90s engines to be extinct if time runs out on them
