JProducts here. Thanks Mark for the review! Note: When using the magnet force meter, always push the magnets down tight into the corner to ensure that all magnets are always positioned in a consistent location on the meter. This will give you the most accurate comparative readings since magnets will produce different readings in different locations on the deck.

That is some neat equipment. I will take a look. I have done without that stuff up until now. Thanks, Mark. - And yes honing down the rail like sharpening a knife would go pretty quick.

Great tools! Thanks for sharing! If its not broke don't fix it! 😂👍 I would think you could sand them down without removing them imo. Let us know what you ended up doing good information! 😁👍🏁🏎

I bought a couple of sanding stones you use to sharpen knives, that did the trick, I was able to hone the rail height down from .017-.020 to .013 - .014. I am happy with that.

Can't help but notice the stuff from Bob Beers in the background. In spite of his reputation and history my experience buying from him has been horrible. I'm not the only one. There is absolutely no way I would ever consider doing any kind of business with him ever again. He is dishonest and seems to think he is above any kind of accountability for his mistakes. Famous on his way to becoming infamous.

I would make a jig to ride on the rails in the lanes next to the high rail with the stone the same as the bottom of the jig … and hone it down to same height best imagine I can do on KZread stone is in the raised horizontal lines and the lower lines are on rails next to the high rails stone is flat with bottom of jig … Jproducts might be able to make you a tool for the job |___|-|-|___|

Thanks cln, I am curious to see how the stones I ordered work, going to take it slow and do even passes on that rail the length of the section and measure with my gage each time.

I was wondering which setup block to buy, looks like .012 block based off your rail height gage? I had to put a fence up for my wife, which put my project behind. I have the track thank goodness before the prices went up at Viper Scale Racing. Kenmoore 4x12. Wish I could have gone to 16' but just don't have the room:). Really enjoy your videos, very informative! Yesterday Viper wasn't showing any of their routed tracks on their website, today, they showed up again but all that I looked at said OUT OF STOCK. Anyway, thanks again!

Hi Mark, which way do you install your down force magnets + or - side down or mixed on AFX, just wondering? Thanks for the great video and information 👍. Have a good one. Al

  • @marksslotcargarage

Which AFX cars? I usually install them in high down force mode, meaning if the car has motor magnets take the magnet that sticks to the motor magnet with the surface of the magnet that would face the rail touching the motor magnet and put that magnet on the side of the car that it sticks to the motor magnet. For Mega G Plus I don't think it really matters as they don't have motor magnets. Thanks!
