Thanks so much for posting this. Good information is so hard to find on what its really like to be a non-rider/support vehicle. We don't want to stay in campgrounds full of generators so I really didn't want to go the vehicle pass route, and I believe your video confirmed that its not necessary. I just got a non-rider pass and plan to park our travel trailer on nearby neighborhood streets. Sounds like you also didn't plan where you parked in advance right?

Thanks for watching glad the video was helpful. Correct we did not pre plan where we were going to park each night. Once we got into town we just looked for a location that was within walking distance to the evening activities. Once we found a spot if it was in front of someone’s home we just asked and everyone that we meet in the towns were more than welcoming.

Question, for the houses you parked in front of. How did you go about getting permission to park there. We're going to be doing RAGBRAI this year with our little popup camper. Thanks..

A lot of towns the residents are very welcoming and some offer more than the street in front. The last night we just pulled up and the owners came out and welcomed us and we chatted for a while. The 1st night no one was home but the neighbors had people camped in tents in their yards. One neighbor offers their hose to fill up our water. 😀

As a support driver it wasn't intimidating to drive. There were support driver routs that were separate from the bike routes. Since most people didn't leave a the same time traffic didn't seem to be that bad. The busiest towns were when we stopped to meet up the riders at the lunch stops.
