RAGBRAI DAY 2 STORM LAKE TO CARROLL
Day 2 presented some challenges that were not as tough as day 1. The stretch from Storm Lake to Carroll was listed at 57.3 miles with 1778 Ft. of climb. Much less than day 1, however the heat did creep up in the early afternoon as it does in Iowa. Great little pass thru towns on this route
Tried something a bit different with this video, I didn't use as much music over the riding portions as people commented that they would like to hear the hum of those tires going down the road.
Carroll provided us with a great little church taco dinner close to our campsite. However it was uphill from the site and at the end of any day had us reconsidering our life choices.
Overall the ride was a fun one and I was still experiencing a bit of ghost shifting with the Trek 520.

Great video, and you didn’t even have to have your own music half the time. Oh and coffee and muffins!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂

Right!! Ragbrai does have its own soundtrack
Saw a few of our friends in your video at the Legion in Breda. We live in Sac City so our Ragbrai started from home on day 2. We enjoy the videos, nice work!

Thanks for visiting
The Relive feature at the beginning is great, nice seeing the elevation changes too! Video quality is excellent. I found that all start, end and pass though towns are hike a bike (and probably safer to just walk than clip and unclipping while riding at a slow crawl). At Lake View other riders were saying “Hey Phil”, just curious how’d they know you, do you have a large sign or does your jersey have your name on it? I know we had the small ‘plates’ for the back of the bike. Did you get your ghost shifting squared away? What was the issue?

Thanks I've had some great feedback on the Relive clips. Actually the Hey Phil folks I'd met the day before, they are viewers of the channel, go figure. This was my first big event after starting the channel and I was surprised how many people came up and said HI. Really made me feel great. Argh, ghost shifting never really got resolved. Put that bike in the shop, they are thinking it's an alignment issue of some sort. Luckily I have a couple bikes to ride while the pros look at the 520.
