WARNING! Since recent update you only have to reinforce the outer borders. I traveled hours with just the borders reinforced, and Bruce DID NOT ATTACK. -Still have a doubt on the in-ship holes (engines, for example)- , but I'm sure (tested) that if you reinforce just the borders you don't have to bother with the rest of the wooden tiles. Please up this :) EDIT: you don't have to reinforce internal holes!!!

A tip for harveesting without bothering with the shark. Anchor AWAY from the island and swim to the island. The shark will follow you till you get on land but then the shark will go back to your raft and STAY just around your raft. If its parked far enough away you can swim about the island and harvest without being bothered by the shark. Great Video SeeShell, thanks.

Also, just so you know, if you only reinforce the edges of your raft, the shark will begin to ignore the armored parts and attack the inner parts of your raft.

@@InterntExplorer I think it is just a glitch. The shark seems to clip through the edges of the raft, going through the reinforced foundations and attacking the middle.

Don’t start reinforcing your raft until you know you can do every part of it so the shark doesn’t do that

You can anchor close but not right next to the island and then throw a shark bait and once you are far enough from your raft, the shark wont attack you and you can loot all the sand, metal, scrap, and copper without worry of the shark respawning or having to kill it

reinforce the edges they changed it. all you need to do is reinforce the edges of your raft.

Given that the shark only attacks the first level of your raft, though it makes no structural sense, your best bet is to have a raft that's as small as possible on the first level and then put everything you actually plan to use on levels built up above it. Having to reinforce 15 platforms vs. 150 is a huge difference, after all!

Because the shark still destroys any blocks that are not armored, even if they're in the center.

The shark will attack the raft every few at regular intervals. UNLESS, no one is on the raft, or the raft is entirely reinforced. If either of those are true, than the shark can't attack when the time comes. However, once someone is on the raft, and there is at least one foundation that is not armored, it will immediately attack the raft. MeShell had an entirely reinforced raft, and the shark was waiting for her to build something it could attack.

you can just reinforce the outer edges that is fine. you don't need to do the whole thing. i like continuity so i do my entire floors. otherwise the mismatched textures bothers me

For fast repairing use middle mouse button.

How do you get the recipe to build the foundation armour? I haven't been able to find it.

you wouldnt really be able to build out upstairs, the floor needs supported by walls or pillars every 2 tiles.

Hello! 7:53 environment on this island looks like environment on the Balboa. But i didnt ever see these islands. Why? I need these islands to find bee jars cuz im tired from always traveling on the Balboa to get it. Can u help me smth?

Yeah. I noticed that you can get to those islands only after you have reached balboa island one time. You know how when you look at your receiver and it shows the green dots? Those green dots on the map (Make sure it is not the blue dots) But those green dots will be one of two islands. It can be either the animal island or it can be a smaller bear island. Don't count on finding many. I have been playing hours. The majority of those green dotted islands will be an animal island with warthogs and screechers. But it is still possible to find the small bear islands when you look at your receiver. Let me know if this helps you.

From what I understand, the Balboa-like islands only appear when the receiver's frequency is set to the same as Balboa's.

If you remove armor foundation. You get your metal ingot back?

Biggest thing is, and unless they've changed it in the last few months, you need to leave something unarmored for the shark to chomp on. If you armor your whole floor, the shark will indescriminately eat any section of the floor, even if it's armored. So, while armor can be useful to protect certain pieces that have important things on top of them, you can't really completely "shark proof" your raft. My guess is that takes away part of the game experience that the game makers don't want completely taken away.

it all comes down to foundations not walls, reinforce the outer foundations on all of your structures on the outside perimeter like a square, if that makes sense.

Got back into the game a week ago, watching this video was helpful reading the comments I'm more confused now. What's the point of reinforced plates if the shark just bypasses them and goes for the weak plates? most peoples raft's I'm guessing are at least 10x10 to reinforce every single plate is just silly but at the same time I don't know which is which...does the reinforced plates keep the shark away? do the plate just take longer to break down? Butttt you have to reinforce everything in order to get that "reward" you get no reward until your raft is complete because the shark just always goes for the weaker ones. Will sombody please clarify, and thank you.

the plate does not wear down. you need to reinforce every single plate in order for it to be shark proof. it does not ware down and contrary to what other people will say who have not played the game in a very long time the shark will not attack you raft once you have reinforced it.

you ONLY have to do the edges. I should have been more clear on that. I reinforce all of it because I really like the industrial look to the raft.

umm you can shark proof it better it you just build everything on a small stilts costs alot of nails but he has to break 9 foundations to destroy 1 foundation

Step one: reinforce your foundation.

Still this doesn’t make your Raft shark proof. Although the shark prefers to attack the non-reinforced parts of your Raft this doesn’t mean he won’t attack if your whole raft is reinforced. It just takes the shark longer to destroy reinforced parts

depends on the mode you play. not sure when the last you played but my entire floor is reinforced and bruce does not chew on it at all.

just for people wondering, it will always attack your raft unless EVERY SINGLE PIECE is armored. even if you have a 100 by 100 raft and all pieces are armored except the one in the middle, it will attack the middle part. this is why i highly recommend putting armor on the important bits first, like under stairs, grills, purifiers, and smelters. i sadly figured this out the hard way, i though putting the armor on all edges would stop him but nope, he goes straight past the armor. he destroyed my freaking anchor.

Don't use all that metal... Just build walls at the raft border and that's it... You are sharkproof

yes, definitely that is how you do it. However, I am a bit ocd when it comes to building my own raft with all of mine i love how the look is for the reinforced tiles which is why I persoanlly choose to reinforce all of mine.

@@mobilelegendsdeutsch287 when you are in normal mode of raft and not the hardest as long as you reinforce ALL of your tiles he won't bite anymore.

The only parts of your raft to reinforce with metal are the edges! The shark can only attack from the sides.

Without reinforcement, yes, the shark can only attack the edges, but for some reason, reinforcing a foundation causes the shark to ignore it entirely, and it can pass straight through reinforced foundations to attack inner foundations that aren't reinforced.

Geez, its like she is explaining this to a bunch of idiots. She gave a very long winded guide. Just get some metal ,smelt it to ingots and also make nails then build armor around your floor sections. That's it.

Can you call the stuff by it’s actual name please that they use in the game?You’re looking for metal ore..not metal. You’re then using a SMELTER...not a smithy. It then makes METAL INGOT..not iron ingot. You use PLANKS not wood. Yes they might be the same thing in real life - but please use the language consistent in the game
