The treatment he is receiving is to eliminate or minimize the pain in the foot because of the chronic problem he has with the deterioration of the bone. There is nothing wrong with that. It simply allows him to play without pain, to play normally. In actuality, it is not different from taking something for a headache or an upset stomach. This doesn't enhance his game, simply allows him to play at his natural capacity. This is absolutely legitimate. Nothing wrong with it. More complicated than taking orally a tablet or a pill to alleviate a pain or a gastric discomfort, but not different. So, this isn't enhancing his perfomance.

I wouldn't compare it to a headache or stomach ache. I suspect such an injections may negatively affect foot proprioception, playing this way can be very risky and make your injury worse at any time.

Well his body naturally deteriorated because of all the stress he has put it through. Because of this he took injections that were in fact drugs and did in fact enhance his performance! Whether it's right or wrong, legal or illegal a drug is a drug. Don't understand why people can't accept that the top athletes take drugs. They are still incredible and deserve all our praise but there's no point denying facts!

@@ek3773 the majority of all pro athletes regularly use pain killers. Don’t be so delusional . If it’s Legal, go for it. They will all pay the price eventually. It’s like wawrinka said in 2019 after losing to medvedev: tennis players constantly have pain . It’s a very physical demanding sport, without pain killers we would be watching a major final between two guys who got lucky and got walkovers in each of their first 6 rounds

He said in his press conference after the match he can't continue to get his foot injected and he's not going to, he knows very well it's risky and potentially could cause further problems. He's going to get the procedure done that uses heat to burn the nerve, I believe (can't recall the exact term) and if that doesn't work he won't play Wimbledon and will probably have a major surgery done. I wouldn't call getting the foot anesthesticized performance enhancing but that's just my opinion. No one can deny his greatness, over so many years 🇪🇸.

The synonym for transcendence is Rafa. Just to be clear that transcendence is not in the category of superlatives. Transcendence is the dissolution of thought that attempts to describe. It is prior to and beyond every description. Rafa is not superhuman. On the contrary, he is fully human - he fully embraces suffering, he fully breathes self-doubt, he fully respects each and every player, each and every human being across the planet, he fully respects every tennis 🎾 racquet if he's not smashed a single one, he fully loves Real Madrid, he fully respects Roger and Novak, he fully loves humanity. Transcendence when lived is humility, humility, humility. Rafa!

To ALL Nadal haters and naysayers, #14 🏆 is dedicated to you guys. Against all ODDS, Rafa overcame all obstacles thrown at him. One-sided draw, having to play at night session that he didn't want, having to play 4 top ten players on his way to the final. Message is quite clear: NEVER count Nadal out. RG is his castle and he is STILL the UNDISPUTED KING 🤴 of Clay! At 36yrs old, winning another RG title after the pundits, tennis experts/commentators, Djoko and Fed fan boys etc all wrote him off. What an unbelievable achievement for the ages. I would suggest to those Djoko riders who keep claiming NOVAX is the GOAT, you all need to bite it and STFU. Give all the excuses you want for Rafa winning his 2nd GS of the year, His racquet 🎾 is doing all the talking....and Rafa is not done yet! 2022 = #22 GS 🏆and counting. 💪🇪🇦

I am just curious, playing tennis on a highest level ever seen with (as he says) a "numb" foot due to anesthesia shots is possible? and then, if you go to dentist to get anesthesia shot for tooth while he is working on it, can you control your muscle? Because Nadal controls his foot perfectly while having his foot numb due to anesthesia, and it does work that way in reality:). If you get anesthesia, depends how much, you lose power and control of that muscle. This talk is nonsense. I think we have witnessed the very open and public doping in the history of sport. Time will tell, same as with Ben Johnson, Lance Armstrong and many others... Am not surprised why Nadal still has no kids.
