RAF Typhoons and F35 fighter jets LOW flying and close formation through The Lake District UK!!

First capture for a few months with weather taking its toll on my days off and a few blanks to boot!! Finally got a fine (if baltic and windy) day and these were the best of the passes. Got to finally see the Swiss F18s for the first time as well as they come to the end of their visit to RAF leeming, unfortunately quality not great as I was on my way down at the time! The Typhoon is one fantastic looking plane! Shame that “Fat Amy” followed. I understand that her shape is particularly designed for her purpose, but come on, the guys at Lockheed Martin could have made her look a bit more appealing. That said, beautiful camera work pal! Much love 👍👍

    @@stanleybuchan4610 This is obvious, but for an aviation enthusiast the efficiency of a flying weapon system is neither the only nor the main consideration. Marcel Dassault said "a beautiful plane is a plane that flies well. I am only expressing my opinion but on an aesthetic level the Typhoon is not completely satisfactory, notably because of its oversized and angular canard surfaces... As for the F35, it is downright ugly. And I'm not saying this to be the insufferable Frenchman on duty. I am an unconditional lover of design from across the Channel... Cars, motorbikes (I've been riding a speed triple for 10 years), fashion and of course planes...who else but the Brits could have designed the Vulcan, the Harrier or the Lightning (not the F35 obviously). British design is always disruptive, a consequence of insularity perhaps... And then there is our common work of art, the most beautiful aircraft of all time, Concorde ... a shining testimony that our 2 nations should collaborate more often ...

    0:07 smoke ON!

  • @mach.8715

    @mach.8715

    Жыл бұрын

    If you're talking about what looks like "smoke" coming off the wingtips, that's simply condensation. The camber (curvature) of the wing and the angle of attack (the angle between the wing and the relative wind, i.e., the oncoming airflow) results in a pressure difference between the upper and lower surfaces of the wing. That's what causes "lift." Obviously, the air pressure under the wing is higher than the air on top of the wing. The air naturally goes from an area of high pressure to one of low pressure. In so doing, the resulting expansion causes the air to cool. If the ambient temperature and humidity are in the right range, the moisture in the air condenses, resulting in what you see as "smoke." As the plane maneuvers, the lift the wing is producing varies, and with it, the amount of cooling the air experiences. (Sorry if this was WAY more than you wanted to know! 🙂 But there's probably somebody reading this late at night who's having a hard time falling asleep. I'm sure this helped.)
