Raekwon on How He Started Selling and Trying Crack by 13 (Part 2)

Part 3: • Raekwon on Cousin Shoo...
Part 1: • Raekwon on His Dad Add...
--------
In the latest clip, Raekwon described the impact crack had on his community. He claimed crack dealers didn't enter the drug trade as a career goal but as a "phase" in order to make a few extra dollars. Raekwon recalled crack not being considered a damaging drug at first and experimenting with it as a 13-year-old. The Wu-Tang member also talked about being locked out of his house and having to stay with a crack fiend. Check out the above clip to hear more.

I ran into Rae twice shopping in Manhattan around Broadway and 4th and 8th street. Both times he was by himself chilling and buying leathers and sneakers. Didn't want to bother him but I did speak both times and he was gracious. Give you a pound and let you know he appreciates the support of him and the Clan. Humble brother.

“I was a fien for cracks and weed, the combination made my eyes bleed” Wu was one of the only ones to keep it real about trying it when it first came out. In ‘85 a lot of young people was smoking woolies when it first came out because it wasn’t a lot of crack heads yet to let you know how bad it could get. They thought it was just another form of coke

Most of the rappers back then rapped about smoking dust and putting coke in their weed. And pretty much all of them tell stories of how they smoked "base" as teenagers. Like Chef said, crack didnt have the stigma on it that it has today. Rae and them are in their early and mid 50s. Crack was cool just like these kids today pop pills and drink lean.

Raekwon should be on everyone's Top 20 rappers of all-time list. One of the best to touch the mic from one of the best groups ever if not the best group in Hip Hop history. Much respect to this man!

i was in a wu music video..the video called shadowboxin..I have also met dmx at a liquor store in harlem when his 2nd album came out..dmx was extremely cool..he was in the liquor store buying liquor with no security..he was with 1 guy..I have also seen big pun, fat joe & terror squad at the puerto rican day parade..they was in one of the floaters..I also seen aventura the spanish singers at the dominican day parade..I also met snoop the female from the show the wire..she was buying food at a popeyes restaurant with a female. I also met the roots. i also met channel live which was a rap group that was down with krs one. I also met spliff start (he is busta rhymes hype man). Anyway being in the wu video was so dope..I got to stand next to rza and method man and they gave use green rain coats and they put on us green wu tang bandanas for the video..they had females tie the bandanas on our heads..it was 100s of people in that video and we were all dressed the same with the green rain coats and the green bandanas. 1 more thing, a female that lived in my building, she was in the wu video ice cream.
