Great interview. Living Legend. Wu-Tang forever. 👐🏾
As you can tell by the name I'm a huge Wu fan but they really need to bring it on this next one. Make sure everybody is writing dope bars and really wants to shine as the best MC. Don't just do it to do it. Rae and Ghost always bring it but I want that effort from everybody onboard.

rascol109 i dont think his production fell off. RZA always had a vision beyond the clan and his focus was heard in his production. his sound was starting to evolve more into movie scores which was his main focus at the time. i believe he can easily revive his old sound if need be but i dont think that is one of his priorities. he still my fav producer.

Steph Curry need to pay homage
The last 2 WU albums were disappointing. "Crown of Thorns" is a banger on The Wild
No one has ever called Ghostface "Dini" in his near 20+ years career. Raekwon saying "Who?" confirms how whiteness will always be out of place in the sub-culture of Hip Hop. Especially since the existence of said sub-culture is a result of the perpetual socioeconomic oppression that Caucasians have done & still do.
@sophritoh
7 жыл бұрын
Niwde8411 I agree within the culture but just purely as fans u can't help what u like. and I've been a hip hop head since a little kid, I can't help it it just is what I like!! lol. and I'm not an ignorant listener either. but I acknowledge that I am in the minority
@Niwde8411
7 жыл бұрын
It's not about the type of music you prefer. It's about how my people Created a positive way of life as a response to the perpetual socioeconomic oppression we're forced to live through & how those who benefit from said oppression wanna come in & act like they're a natural part of it. You acknowledging that you're in the minority is a step but realize that rap music has been separated from the sub-culture of Hip Hop since the mid to late 80's so there's been a heavy corporate influence to appeal to wight consumers, even in both golden eras. Wight boys get comfortable when they get some form of acceptance in this realm & moor times than not, they end up doing sum dumb shit that reminds everyone else that wight people are foreigners to this & always will be.
@sophritoh
7 жыл бұрын
Niwde8411 yep I feel you, but I think sadly most people nowadays don't recognize the history and origins of it....even some of the new rappers out there...even tho I personally prefer old school rap these new rappers u can't deny they are still part of hip hop. but i know what u mean, it does irk me the kind of blatant culture vulturing that goes on. even tho I'm white it still bothers me cuz I have empathy for ppl. people shud really acknowledge where the music came from and the oppression that still takes place to this day! people who try to deny it are almost always part of the problem
@Niwde8411
7 жыл бұрын
The history & origin isn't recognized because it isn't respected by the youth due to the breaking of the family unit that would've passed down the traditions orally instead of receiving pieces of via watered-down corporate media. Watered-down because not even most of these people in "Hip Hop Media" aren't well-versed in the knowledge that comes with living such a way of life. If the vulturing irks you then call out those who mock this for profit. Do the knowledge of how this came to be. Research the NY Organizations & Clubs that police called "gangs" that were the forefathers of this thing that so many call a culture but know nothing about. "The Get Down" is kool but it's from wight people so it's only gonna go so far in telling the whole story. Hip Hop is globally mainstream because of the music from the 90's & that's never recognized even tho that was the greatest era of rap music.
@sophritoh
7 жыл бұрын
Niwde8411 I will look into what u recommend, I thought the get down is produced by Nas? but yea the 90s was the golden era of rap, and you had to be lyrical to compete... also because some of rap music nowadays is kinda mindless and just meant to sound good, we don't have as many people like Tupac, binary star, hang Starr, black star ( so many stars lol), tribe called quest promoting a more conscious lifestyle. there are still a few out now but not as many and that fits in the "agenda" of keeping people of color oppressed by promoting role models who only talk about materialistic things
Nigga supposed to be gangsta, but he talkin about his cuticles, lol.
No disrespect to Rae but this album was very weak...apart from Pure the features were disappointing...Rae dipped after OBCL...his subsequent albums had the odd jewel here and there but he didn't reach the Olympian heights he once perched at...Why? Maybe his beat selection...his rhyme partner Ghost grew wings and flew...leading up to OBCL2 it seemed like Rae put a super charged Duracell in his back...OBCL2 didn't disappoint at all, Rae was back...then he slipped with FILA...and now with The Wild...that's just my personal opinion and you can hate...I've been a big Wu head from day one and still have 36 chambers on tape (caught the bus as a 16 yr old to HMV and listened to it on the way home in my Walkman) AND CD (bought it years later because I thought the sound quality would be better than the tape)...what I'm saying is I've followed all of them since the came out and every Wu head is passionate about them, artists and producers evolve and want to show their versatility and diversity, Ghost hasn't missed a step, Rae missed a few, Rza, well let's just say I didn't like his Beatles inspired, I can read music now production on the last 2 Wu albums...A Better Tomorrow was meant to be a response to us putting the WU sign in the air, come and take your crowns back, instead the cover art was like the shit Suave House and No Limit used to put out, the beats were shit and there wasn't any "feeling" there...I still have faith in them and I'm waiting like many others for them to come back and show this industry one more time that Wu Tang aren't to be fcuked wit!!...didn't intend this to be an essay but the bottom line is that Rae needs to go home, back to the essence of what made him Rae, get back in the kitchen, open the cupboard, push past the new herbs and seasoning and pull out the old containers that even though the stamp says they're past their sell by date you can still make mouth watering dishes with them!!
