Freddie wrote this as a tribute to Elvis, who died 2 years before in 1977. He was in the bath and it took him about 10 minutes! It is one of the few songs he wrote on his guitar as he usually preferred the piano, claiming he couldn't play the guitar for nuts, although Brian said Freddie was much better than he gave himself credit for. If you check out a live performance, you will see he played guitar on stage for it.
