It's Yazoo with Moyet and Vince Clark who is a synth genius, BTW.

I loooove Alison Moyet's voice. And Vince Clarke is such an amazing songwriter. A few years ago she arranged this with an orchestra and it's amazing!

I am SO glad you have reacted to Alison Moyet / Yazoo. I LOVE her voice. Another great song of hers is All Cried Out. And, in a totally different style, her version of "That Ole Devil Called Love " is outstanding.

One of my favorite voices ever. So strong and clear and those early EDM beats are hypnotic

Yaz (Yazoo in Europe) - Album Upstairs at Erics. She had one of the best voices.

Love how this one creeps up on you. So sweet. Her version of ‘That Old Devil called Love’ is so bluesy

Your little moment of self awareness while you were bopping was very sweet. You have a lovely personality. Back tot he 70's/80's such a journey there. Try ABBA, they were huge back int he day and have a long list of great pop songs.

Alison Moyet was the lead singer of a 2 piece band the other member was Vince Clarke on keyboard. He started out with Depeche mode. The name of this band however was Yazoo. You should check out Don't go, Situation and Midnight. Just three songs from a list of great tracks. You and me both was probably their best album and is well worth a listen. A really terrific Alison Moyet song is "invisible," which was her first solo single after the breakup of Yaz, and was written for her by legendary Motown songwriter Lamont Dozier.

her real name is Geneviève Alyson Moyet her dad is french and named her Geneviève coz she is the saint patron of Paris

There an acapella group called The flying pickets. Its actually really nice cover, it was a Christmas number 1 here in the UK.

Catch Moyet's cover of "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "Invisible" and even "Love Letters." She has quite a surprising range.

This song was actually released by Yazoo. It was a demo that Vince Clarke hired Moyet to sing. The demo was so good the record company suggested they become a group and record an album. Their two albums are iconic. They gave birth to house music.

@Rae Jaxxon - The singer is Alison Moyet but the bands name was Yazoo. It was the band of Vince Clarke when he left Depeche Mode. He offered the song to them but they weren´t interrested. For Yazoo it was a big hit. For more about this band try "Don´t go". And if you like Alisons voice search for "All cried out" from the Album "Alf".

It's only now that I am watching reaction videos that I am being exposed to music I would never otherwise hear except if it was in a movie or TV. That's why I said that this song was interesting, although not my cup of tea.

The Flying Pickets had a decent acapella hit with this a couple years later. Worth checking out.

If you like this, you should check out "Can't Hardly Wait" from 1998 starring the underrated Ethan Embry, Seth Green of Buffy and THE Jennifer Love Hewitt. Such a good-hearted little movie. It's like John Hughes directed it.

It’s actually Yazoo, as they were known in the UK, and in the US they were called Yaz because of trademark laws (there was a label called Yazoo Records).
