First up, I researched a bunch of live videos and online stuff for the chords used in this lesson, but I have to specifically thank WarrenMusic's great lesson for helping me catch a few things that were giving me trouble • Radiohead - Nice Dream...
I've tried to present Nice Dream close to the way it was played on the original studio recording. The acoustic guitars are buried and sound very washy in the mix, but this sounds mostly right to my ear. Thom Yorke plays it slightly different each time in live videos so it's hard to pin down. You will need to change your tuning slightly, but it's a very quick and easy adjustment. The song uses E-A-D-G-A-E tuning, so you need to drop your B string down a whole step to A. You can do this by ear, just match the pitch to the 2nd fret of the G string.
The song is in 6/8 time and flows very smoothly with accents on the 1 and 4. The strum pattern is a simple D-DUDU with a very light touch. There are a lot of open strings used to create a spacious sound with a lot of ring to it. Although there are no barre chords used, you need to make some unusual shapes higher up the neck, and a couple of shapes require you to mute certain strings with your fretting hand fingers.
The chords have a lot of weird names, and given that we are in an altered tuning they begin to feel a bit irrelevant. For that reason, I didn't include a chord list at the start of the video. Most of them are variations on A, D and E with some weird B minor and F# minors.

This is the best tutorial I've found for this. Thank you!
Wonderful format! Very easy to follow, and the chords to this song are easier than I anticipated
no bullshit talking in between, no annoying "up-up-down-up" instructions (my humble opinion: if you need to "study" rhythm this way, lay the instrument aside) and acurate chords: the best there is. Keep it up, friend!
I like how this video made me realize that this song is basically constructed around a drone generated by the open A and E strings in the upper register. sick. I also like the accompanying drum programming/playing.
Great tutorial, and managed to nail the song in half hour-ish. Thankyou so much great work!!
thanks for your efforts, really appreciated!

Thank you! Taking requests is something I find myself thinking about a lot. I am considering adding a tier to my Patreon that would allow people to submit requests, but there are issues. Firstly, the songs would need to fit into the style of my channel (ie., be chord/strumming based rather than riff based, and genre appropriate). They would also need to be within my ability to both work out and play. On top of that, I would need to price the tier at a point that would make it worth my while to put all the work in. All the songs I do on my channel tend to be ones that I enjoy myself, and I do it because I'm excited about figuring them out. If I'm doing songs which I have little interest in, then it stops being fun for me to do this. It's also extremely time consuming. Does any of this make sense or sound sensible?

LeftHandedGuitarist Yeah dude it sounds cool that you've thought about it. I know the pain of editing videos, its quite a task at times. Maybe if you do decide to do it, you add that extra tier on your pateron and ask if you pay this much $$ a month you can do three to five songs as a request a month. Or if they pay even more than you would want, you can add another option stating you can do an album once every two months Again the options are endless dude, but I enjoy your work nonetheless! If you decide something, maybe if there are more than one guitar on any song you can do part 1 and 2 etc. I know that The Bends has that, anyways thanks for reading!

@@LeftHandedGuitarist just a suggestion but you can consider not monetizing the requests side at all. You can just put a suggestions feed in your patron. This will just be an additional source of new songs you can try and make a video on. This may enhance your audience reach and in turn, generate increased revenue from youtube. The ones you don't wanna try, you dont. Simple as
Clap clap clap clap!

@LeftHandedGuitarist

@@ignacioalfonsobascunan4033 Make sure you're tuning the correct string - it's the 2nd thinnest one closest to the floor. It should have a fairly high tension even when tuned down. You can play fret 2 on the G string to hear the note you are trying to tune the B string to, when you have done it correctly they should sound the same.
