    @Crazysworld917 жыл бұрын

    Here is the problem with Pit Road speed limit penalties. 1. Speed limit is X, but nascar lets them go X+5. This is stupid. Speed limit should be X, and give verbal warnings 1 time for going over by a couple mph or so. then start black flags. the X+5 rule is just the dumbest sounding rule I've ever heard. Just make it 50, and tell them it is 50 or make it 45 and hold them to 45. 2. Video and timing evidence of speeding. I find it extremely convenient that harvick was speeding in the 2 segments BEFORE his pit stall, and not the very first segment or the last, I require video and timing evidence of speeding for each and every speeding penalty or else I am calling BS. 3. Speed indicators, these cars have no speedometer, no speed limiter, the engineers basically have to program the car to display lights when the correct RPM for the speed is correct, they are told to go 50mph so these techs try and get the lights right at 50.4 mph, which is the fastest you can go without being considered speeding. THis also is really really stupid. I am against speed limiters in NASCAR, but if you leave it up to the teams they are going to go as fast as they can without getting caught every time, and this ends up ruining the competitiveness of the race as it did this week. As stated before some rule changes and possible equipment changes should be made.

  • @ovenman2004

    @ovenman2004

    It doesn't ruin anything. Nothing should be done. The only thing that needs to stop a driver from getting a penalty, is the drivers not speeding. Of course the drivers try to go as fast as they can, it's a RACE!

  • @aquila2662

    @aquila2662

    What's wrong with pit limiters? If the point is for safety then how is it safer for a driver to monitor their speed all the way down a pit lane? It doesn't prevent a driver from entering or exiting too fast. Still see speeding penalties across all disciplines that have pit limiters on the cars trying to eek out every fraction of a second advantage.

    This "speeding on pit road" BS is horrible for NASCAR. I've been a fan for 20 years and it's ridiculous. 50.07 mph!? Really?! If the speed limit is 50 then they need to let them do 50-point-whatever. It's not F1, they don't have pit speed limiters for their speed/throttle positions. And don't say "well, just go 49 mph" because that will cost you positions. It's dumb.

  • @jfavignano

    @jfavignano

    The speed limit at Atlanta is 45, they were already doing 5 over. Each team will push no matter what and NASCAR usually allows a 5 mph grace. It is 100% on the driver or the person that set the tach. If they aren't feeling the tach is right don't push it ;)

    It's not just F1. Every racing series in the world (BTCC, Aussie V8, F1, Indycar, WEC, WTCC, IMSA, etc) all have pit road limiters because it keeps everyone safe on pit road. And they do give a 5 mph cushion. Limit is 45 so they can go up to 50 before they get penalized.

    It's for safety reason. You don't want your crew being ran over by another car going over 100mph while their changing your tires.

    DiamondAviation I mean the fact they have no way to accurately limit the speed, and the fact they penalize for a half a mile an hour over. I understand the safety part.

    More like Atlanta is pretty boring, along with all the other so called cookie cutter trucks. The need to change with the times and find new ways to engage with their fans is evident. They had to try something. It's a problem that affects several disciplines right now and everyone is trying to adapt to it.
