I have both the EVGA FTW3 and Tuf 3080.... and both are good. Great Hot Spot and VRAM temps with both. The FTW3 seems to consume a bit more power, but it is a little bit more manageable. The TIM pumps out a lot though. I've had to replace the TIM of both cards twice. Kryonaut and MX-6 don't seem to handle well. Right now I'm trying Gelid, but I might try Kryonaut Extreme if I have to repaste the card soon.

Set min clock to 2800 and raise/lower for stability, set max clock to 5000, set power limit +15, drop voltage (my card only stable down to 1050 but a lot of people say they’re getting down to 950) in steps until you get unstable. Once it breaks go back to the last stable voltage + 25-50 for stability and raise vram in steps (2600 is around the max, my card is hitting about 2500, seems to crash at 2550) once you get your stable vram clock bring that +25-50mv back down to your stable undervolt

Many 4070s cost $550 now. Plus, Nvidia offers DLSS, better RT performance and lower power draw. So it depends. 7800 XT is definitely a better choice for 4K, as it offers more VRAM, higher memory bandwidth and better raster performance. But for 1440p 4070 is a good option as well, since at this res RT is a viable option for this card, especially in conjunction with DLSS. But I'd say 3080 12GB is the best overall value choice these days, if you are OK with used items.

Especially using multiple monitors. 4090 uses 450W TDP, I have to upgrade PSU up to a nuclear power plant besides the price point. I think it's redundant that pushing beter performance needs higher power and thus way more heat. Hey Chris, there is another elephant in the room. HiGH Power Consumption of AMD GPUs @ video playback ! Last Gen's RX 6800 (and up) AMD GPUs & the new chiplet RX 7000 series have serious power issues @ video playback (youtube, Netflix, video players etc.) 40+ W is stupidly HiGH / meaningless... and while the previous 6700 XT consumes only 16W, the new 7700 XT doubles that power draw with a whooping 33W on "video playback" The RX 7800 XT is thirsty too; 42W power consumption while we watch your videos ! AMD should have solved that "power issue @ video playback" on the current Gen but it's gotten worse... Can u make a video about it too ? 🤔

No it doesn't ,we are in the era of raytracing . And even the rtx 4060 has some decent rt performance. The problem with amd gpus is that they only have raster performance for them . The upscaler is a joke below 1080p and even when using 1080p , dlss will still make a noticeable difference. So let's take a good example. Rx7600 cost 270$ Rtx 4060 cost 300$ For 30$ more + you get roughly the same raster performance. + you get 2× rt performance × dlss. With dlss you can even use 540p to upscale at 1080p and have decent results. While fsr can't handle 720p ... let's not even mention 540p . In that case going with rtx 4060 is the only value choice. Here : Rx 7800xt 500$ Rtx 4070 550$ In that case the raster perf is a mix bag. Like the rx7800xt can vary between + 30% to -30%. And once again, significantly better rt perf with rtx 4070. And dlss. And since they are both 1440p gpus . Fair to say that the rtx 4070 will last longer. Maybe 2 years if you are mad enough to go as low as 540p to 1080p, ( which is a viable option that amd gpus can't offer ..fsr sucks too much) You want to make the rdna 3 line up utterly destroyed nvidia? Price them accordingly. Like the rx 7600 would beat the rtx 4060 advantages if it was at 200$ instead of only be 30$ cheaper.. Rx 7800xt is only 50$ cheaper than rtx 4070. And quite honestly dlss + rt is worth 50$ extra. But if the rx 7800xt cost 450$ . There would be a legitimate ground to talk. Because there would be 100$ difference. Here is how is see the value Rx7900xtx (800$) Rx7900xt (600$) Rx7800xt (450$) Rx7700xt (350$) Rx7600 (200$) Otherwise dlss is too much of a value saver over time . The fact any rtx gpu can go as low as 540p and still have a decent 1080p output is wild . This generation nvidia has once again beaten amd

I can run cb2077 Maxed settings + RR+ path tracing at 1440p, with solid 75+ fps on my RTX 4070 with a little help from DLSSQ+FG. One question ,can a 3090 ti even do that? Yet you're comparing it to a 3080, I couldn't disagree with you more.

That's literally only 1 game. The 4070 is not good value for the money. That's the objective truth. If your 4070 does better in your favorite game then it makes sense for your specific use case and it was a good buy for you. Most people would do better with a 3080 or 7800 though.

You have 30 day buyer protection on ebay, especially if you buy with paypal. You can tell if the card has been well maintained or not in that amount of time. In the small chance that there's a problem you'll get your money back. I bought a used 3080 last october from ebay that was well taken care of from a highly rated seller and it served me well and then I traded it plus some money for a 4090 a few weeks ago. A used 3080 is a safe bet, mined on or not. Mining only hurts the card if it's full of dust, just like a gaming-only card.

Everyone keeps freely thowing out there that the 7800 XT is sooo popular. Im not seeing the evidence of that. Micro Center has a number of 7700, 7900 XT/XTX, but doesn't even have the 7800 listed anywhere on their website. Last time i saw them do that was when there was literally no expectation of restock or ability to tell customers when to expect more stock. Places like Best Buy, B and H, and Newegg are sold out, but I've seen no evidence that a restock has happened since launch. I dont remember seeing lines all over the place for this gpu either. Seems to me that there was very little stock that mostly has sold through. Because its the first time this season that "sold out" has appeared on a product launch, people are people are assuming that its flying off shelves. Is there any legitimate evidence to show that stock was high and restocks are happening, but folks are jumping over themselves to buy the 7800 XT? Looks to me like youtubers just might have the majority of AMD's launch stock! 🤔 🧐
