It turns out that Spaceballs was inaccurate when they used raspberry jam to jam radar. In this video, Barron Stone walks you though the basics of how radar jamming works and some of the techniques used to do it.

In the last video, I just watched how I made a cellular network jamming detector out of an Arduino. however, the device does not work at a large distance, but at most 4-7 meters. Yes, and so far I can not determine the length of the frequency at which the jamming is. although I adjusted the antenna for cellular communication voice and sms mail mms mail frequencies for detecting jamming

Great Video and Great Series! Very well presented. Divided into smaller topics, which had a perfect balance of complexity! So in future Rader Jamming could become a challenge for automotive driving, to provoke accidents etc., right?

yes and no... most Automotive radars operate VERY high frequencies, and this has two benefits... 1.) you have very precise range resolution, which you'll need for close proximity vehicle detection 2.) At very high frequencies the earth's atmosphere imposes a very high attenuation on such signals, which is a good thing, cars won't interfere with each other, you won't get clutter from far away targets, and it makes it much harder to Jam... unless it's Raspberry Jam.. Delicious...

Is it possible to track the direction of the incoming waves? Is there a device that can help you in finding out the source of the waves/signals coming your way? Thank you in advance.

Great question! Yes, it's possible to track the direction of incoming waves. That's appropriately called "direction finding!" :-) Wikipedia has a good write up on it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direction_finding

5:58 what if in this moment you don't get 3 diffrent balls but 3 times the same one, because the jammer copied what you sent (this might make the object seem bigger on radar than it actually is, making it easy to miss when shooting it)

Deceptive jammers are always getting more complex, this "record and playback" method you suggest is possible if not common... If done correctly detecting real vs fake should be hard... Testing for these cases is an important component of radar and ew designs.

Could a jammer make a radar think that something doesn't exist? Like could something for sake of the term fly under the radar? And never be detected.

the idea of a Barrage jammer somewhat does this but by raising the noise floor of the system to hide in the noise... however, with the presence of noise, a radar may know it's being jammed.

The magnitude of the return signal, along with other characteristics, can give a radar system some insight into the size and shape of the target object. It's not a perfect process because there are a lot of variables at play, but advances in AI/ML are making radar systems smarter every day.

@@barronstone Ok so I ask this because I think I recall in movies and what not, that when they have radar it shows the actual shape of the object, though I may be wrong....so in real radar, the signals that return, do they depict actual shape or what does it actually look like? are they blobs on the radar? Like I hear about radar cross section like the F-35 has a cross section of an insect or something, so does that mean the size of the blob on the screen is the size of an insect or is it a voltage , what does the detector return?

Radar jamming is the intentional emission of radio frequency signals to interfere with the operation of a radar by saturating its receiver with noise of false information. With necessary derivations of the Signal-to-Jammer ratio, discuss in detail the importance of burn-through jammer range

QUESTION! Could you tell us something about IFF's or "Friend or Foe" Identification Systems mounted on PLANES or UAV's ??? Are there ways to "duplicate" or "clone" their signal-characteristics, and MAKE APPEAR YOUR OWN PLANES AS ENEMY PLANES ON THE ENEMY RADAR thus ENABLING THEM TO INFILTRATE ENEMY AIRSPACE??
