Rack Unable To Maintain With Compressor Out

YT244
On the 3rd Day at this location, I work with the equipment with a goal of getting the suction pressure to pull down. We discuss suction pressure and how it relates to the space temp, amd go over some other things.

For the VFD, check the 10VDC input at the VFD terminals #55 and 53# (if memory serves correct). VFD may need to be corrected through programming if someone made an oopsie finger f**ing it.. As for the high suction, your rack will have high suction if the discharge is running high. Bypassing the VFD is not a bad idea around this time of year as long as we can correct the problem before the only two cold weeks of the year roll in lol Maybe the output for the unloaders are also messing with the suction pressure pulldown. Just throwing some stuff out there lol nice videos, brother. Please use your safety belt for going up those ladders while using the camera. Don't need to short the company one solid technician, papi

Bypassed the VFD temporarily until you get the motor corrected and run the condenser fans at 100% if you have that ability to change it

"As i cool down the condensor the fans speed up is that right??" Definately not bro lol..definitely not. Id look closer at the vfd setup. Sounds like a setting is wrong.

Yea man that's what happened. I didn't get it on video but I will today and I'll show you.

Soo outside coils was blocked causing to warm and icing inside

The high side pressure would not cause the evaporator to ice. I believe that there is another reason that the evaporator iced up like that. I found that there was a heating element on the bottom of the coil behind the fans, but none on the middle or top. Maybe this has to do with why it iced up like that

@@mastertechnicianmindset2181 i seen fridges 15% freeze up in a corner when not getting enough refrigerant (had one where one half of it was -15c other half was 25c they had to bin most of the food because meat was warm and vegetables you could use it as a hammer due to how cold it got, depends where the stuff was in the fridge) now the external unit can breath the icing might stop but i guess you be going back to this job late on to see how the system is running

I do believe to answer your VFD question and anyone please correct me if I’m wrong that the VFD senses the motor current during operation and when you wet the coil, it creates a higher motor amperage or amperage draw and the VFD senses and dust adds more airflow by ramping up to 100% that’s what happens on my racks

That could be. I wonder why Rack B isn't set up like that, If that's the way it's supposed to be set up.

I think what happened is the discharge pressure dropped because he was washing the coil, so the E2 reduced the fan speed. To be 100% sure as to what is controlling the fan speed you would need to check the condenser programming at the E2 and see what controls the 10VDC output from the analog output board to the VFD analog input. Most of the time the discharge pressure or even the dropleg pressure transducers have a large role dictating what output is sent to the VFD from the E2.
