Racism Abroad | Is it safe to be Black outside the US?

In this episode Justin & Courtney sit down to discuss what being Black is like across South America, North American, Europe & Africa. They dive into topics like where they felt safe as Black people, where they felt like they blended in with locals vs. standing out & they take time to unpack their privilege as Americans traveling through the Global South.

Thank you for sharing from such a balanced, authentic place. You certainly elevated my perspective with this segment. I appreciate your thoughtfulness with understanding how you can serve others, particularly those from marginalized communities. When are we traveling to Africa? in

We are so glad you enjoyed it! One major reason we share our experiences to for that exact reason - to ensure marginalized groups have some representation & are getting information from people they can relate to! Africa SOON COME!

I’m interested in moving my family and looking for a location aboard. Love following your journey. We recently moved to Tulsa, OK for the Tulsa Remote program but we are not looking to stay forever. There is so much work to be done but they are making strides to rebuild Black Wallstreet which will serve as a model to other cities in America. I really want to expose my 7 year old twin boys to a place where black people are the majority. So let me know when you all held to Africa.

Hey there! We’re happy to have you following along with us & we plan to get to Africa soon!! There are a lot of logistics, but we’re working on it. If you work remote, that’s a great opportunity to spend extended periods of time abroad 😍 many places in Brazil are very Black, we just dropped a video about Río de Janeiro that you might like :)
