From watching your video about going with boosted performance for your tune i went with them and got mine tuned with them and the car moves now its insane (i have el catless headers and a drop in fiter and flex fuel kit) the power difference is insane highly recommend flex fuel kit if you have e85 near you

I also cut out the charcoal filter which I recommend everyone do it serves no purpose and only comes on US cars jdm doesn't have it and there car is rated at 230 not 228 so free hp 😂

Nice, my HRS taillights have the same/similar startup sequence. I've raced my stock BRZ vs a stock VA WRX from a dig and that's really it... pretty sure I would've won the roll race/top end but these cars on prius tires can't really get outta the hole that well lol

That’s sick! Yeah I’ve seen a few other taillights sold by other companies that are somewhat similar in style and have the same sort of start up sequence as well. I absolutely love how that looks, one of my favorite things about the lights for sure.

Yeah that’s true, I would constantly be spinning on the stock tires when I had those on. Now on the continentals and them being 245’s it’s not as bad. I don’t like launching it that often though anyways.

I actually use a GoPro Hero 7 to film my YT videos and I use my iPhone to take photos. I’m actually trying to purchase a camera myself, I’d really love to upgrade my equipment and get a professional camera. Thanks for watching the video, I hope this could help answer your question 🤝💙

Whats causing the popcorn or whatever the sounds from the exhaust? I got an s type but only pops and crackle max like 3 seconds

Hey William, So there’s a lot of way to get that pops and burbles effect you hear. Depending on the vehicle, all you may need to do is switch to an aftermarket style exhaust. For example I am running Catless UEL Headers and a full Catback exhaust on my car. It would give me those pops and bangs, but I also got my car tuned which is another way you can get that popcorn effect from your exhaust. Would you suggest getting a new si or a new gr86? I’m stuck in between, I really love the 86 but I’m thinking on gas and I want to have a kid soon, but honestly the 86 is where my hearts at. I just know it doesn’t have a backseat

Honestly all are really great cars, and it’s good you have your mind set on something new that way it’s reliable. I love the 86 to much not to give you a biased opinion 😅😂. Honestly though, just as you said there is little to no room in the backseats. It could work for what you need it for, but at the end of the day definitely would get hard when you start needing to pile a lot of stuff into your car, and you don’t have the room for it. The SI’s I’ve heard great things about, surprising has a good amount of backseat space as well even in the coupe version. Of course the WRX being a 4 door should have plenty of enough space for family needs, and it is kinda like a factory turbo’d BRZ in a way cause it shares a similar 2.4 engine.

Like I said, I am really biased and just like you I have had my heart set on owning a 86 for such a long time. Since back in 2013 when the original FRS came out, I knew I needed to own one of these cars. It’s such an amazing platform. Whatever you end up deciding I wish you the absolute best! What wheels and dimensions on the gr86? They look awesome.

I really appreciate that man! As for the wheel specs I am running 18x9.5+38 wheels and the tires are 245/35/18s. In order to run this spec, you’ll need aftermarket suspension. I personally went with BC Coilover’s (Br Series). I hope this could help answer your question.

These are called Rays Gramlight 57CR’s. I am lowered 2 inches all around and for the rear camber I’m at -2.5 and for the front I’m at -0.8. Haven’t had any issues with rubbing, and it’s still looks low enough for my opinion as well.

If I had to guess I’m probably making around 230whp or so in my 86 and Jordan’s making around 260whp in his SI. I feel because my car is lighter than his, it’s what even it out and makes the cars so comparable in speed.

It’s funny I wanted to make this video because I thought after all the parts each of us has added, there would be one clear winner over the other, but it still seems as if the cars are almost identical In speed just as they were before 😅

I just talked with someone that just Dyno’d their 86 and they were getting 245. I think Toyota undersold these.

In order to run this setup it’s advised you get an aftermarket tune for the car, which is why I went with Boosted Performance as the tuner of my car.
