The sad part is I wanna play Motorstorm again but unfortunately I did something stupid as a child with it. I was so fed up with losing each time that I just raged, took the disc and scraped it against a wall. Then months later, I realised I made a huge mistake. I remember a funny story about how I discovered Blur. When I was a kid I bought Need for Speed: The run and I was super excited to play it but when I tried to run it on my pc I got an error that I didn't understand. I went back to the store where I had bought it and the man told me that the game only ran from windows 7; I still had Windows XP at the time. I got very sad and did not know what to do because the man told me that he could not return the money; however, he told me that if I wanted I could exchange it for another game. I started looking for some other racing game and Blur appeared before my eyes. I took it but very reluctantly. When I got home I was still upset about what had happened so I just put Blur on a shelf and left it there for several days I didn't want to know anything about that game; I wanted to play Need for Speed and not a game that no one knew about. Days later I went back to take a look at the cover which I thought was pretty so I decided to give it a try. Hours and hours of fun with my two younger brothers. Love that game with all my heart. To this day I still play it sometimes with my friends and we do not stop laughing with all the stupid things we do in the races. Having Windows XP back then was one of the best misfortunes of my life.

Split second is #2 in this one (#1 being Motorstorm). The brutality of Split Second was the reason I enjoyed the game so much. Burnout 3 Takedown was one of the most relentlessly enjoyable games I’ve ever played, a true masterpiece.
PGR2 and PGR4 both looked amazing for the systems they came out for. It's impressive seeing how they got away with technically lower quality models by excelling at lighting and art style. And the series as a whole pretty much perfectly balanced arcade and simcade, especially PGR4. It's a shame we never got another game in the series, the closest we got was DriveClub.

Remember when video games are meant to be fun, instead of them being just hyper realistic & with deep stories? Good times. I miss arcade racers like this, even though I'm personally not very good at racing games. 😅
Ridge Racer I think was the saddest one, because in the 2000s it was THE arcade racer, on Xbox, playstation, and Nintendo, but after Ridge Racer 7 they gave up and never really tried until Ace Combat 7 development, where they tried a remake or new game or something, but was canceled
@dragostorm5947
Жыл бұрын
Also because of the extremely poor reception they got when Ridge Racer Vita was released, and being called out for making the game P2P heavy with the primary use of course + car DLC packs in order to get more game content when in previous installments, the entire game just simply comes in one full ready to play package. I do hope that one day they revisit Ridge Racer and give it a proper sequel/farewell. As a game, Ridge Racer was really ahead of it's time with graphics that rival most modern consoles and a simple but fun and addicting gameplay style

Juiced should have made the list, loved the first one when it was released.
@sevdamustafaokat
Жыл бұрын
Both were very good games. Only his opponents at that time were very strong. Since the first Juiced was a little late, it was overshadowed by the legendary NFS Underground 2. Otherwise, there were tremendous details like building Crews, having more than one car and having our Crew Members become our wingmen using our other cars. I think Juiced 2 was overshadowed by GRID. However, it also had great dynamics. Character development for the way we raced, spooking the opposing driver off the road was absolutely beautiful. I have an old PSP and still play both Juiced.

Yeah and it’s a shame that those racing games are either really far into the arcade or simulation style, a lot of these games found a good spot in the middle where they were arcade racers but at least followed basics of real racing, where arcade racers now feel like tap this button to drift on rails.

Feel like MotorStorm Apocalypse would still be taken in poor taste considering current events. Crazy taxi and midnight club were everything, driver SF I genuinely enjoyed and I am praying the new TDU game picked up and recreates the franchise, not like what EA did with NFS 2015
I loved fuel from codemaster. Had all kind of vehicles from cars, bikes, trucks, etc. A colossal map, day/night cycle and weather system like tornados and thunderstorms. Back in 09' was from another world

wipeout, f-zero, choro q, and tokyo xtreme racer too imo. so glad ridge racer was on there though often forgotten about. loved all of these games
Loved burnout games. Sooo much replay value there. Split second was close with the track course changing effects
This video hurts. It just shows how many racing games I played and enjoyed but most of them don't have new games being developed in the franchises anymore. I played the crap out of Ridge Racer 7, MotorStorm, Blur, Split/Second, Driver SanFran, Midnight Club 3 + LA, DriveClub and Burnout Paradise. If we're talking PS2 racing games, then there's even more franchises that haven't seen the light of day past one game like Auto Modellista and Enthusia. I miss when new racing games were released often and most of them were quality titles. Now we're just trying to settle for running Gran Turismo 4 on an emulator, or lucky enough to have any of these more modern games in your physical library or on a SSD/HDD before the publishers couldn't keep up the licenses and pulled them from storefronts.
Split/Second was the bomb! Loved it
Title for this video is very true. Even Blur had left a mark on the video game industry. Just shows what kind of company Activision was, back then.
😍😍😍 merci pour tout ces bon souvenirs.
Split second and blur are my favorite games next to the original Need for Speed games. I can't forget the menu ost of blur. And literally installed split second 3 times and completed it 100% again and again.
I understand you had to cut the soundtracks because of youtube's copyright policies, but Damn, really makes you realise how HUGE of an impact the songs added to the overall experience !

Man the motorstorm atmosphere que the soundtrack just hits❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ me and cousin played multiplayer and that nostalgia just hits mannnn❤️❤️❤️
All these games are bangers to this day, so if you wanna go down memory lane, or go back to the good ol’ days of gaming you should really pick them up and try them out. Some you can’t play in modern consoles but you could just as easily find a romm or a console port of the game.
Who said they were gone? I keep my copies of Burnout, Motorstorm, and Split/Second close and I treasure them all the time. Online multiplayers may go down, but I will always have and treasure the high octane memories, and continue making more from time-to-time. 👍
