Nice riding by Marcel , he had a good level of sustained watts through out the race. A Cat is a different kettle of fish for those who are not use to it. Done a few of these zwift academy races ( videos on my channel), super strong fields, you have to be ready to rip it.

The difference between A cat racing and all the others is the 2w/kg top range difference for A & A+ where all the others are 1w/kg. Once your friend got dropped from the lead group it would have been better for him to ride wheel and conserve energy than try and bridge the group to the front group. It was probably full of A+ cat riders. Either way he had a great effort and did great to finish almost top ten! I did this race on Friday and finished 3rd when I blew-up sprinting up the final hill.

I did the race but in category B. I dont know man, is hard. I think that there is a lot of A riders racing in B, because the entire race the first group was riding at cap 4.0- 4.7w, there is no way for me to “compete” against strong people like that.

Yeah, I noticed some people using unrealistic power soures when lookng at some of the results. Zwift intends to release the racing score categorization soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Looked like he passed on a few powerups by not using them, but generally good job avoiding the front. With that gap, by the last 1km there was zero reason to get on the front (assuming unable to separate) because those guys up the road were 100% gone. Super performance considering all the heavy hitters.
