'Race expanding across the map like an octopus' that was one of the og build strategy archetypes I remember from a TA strategy guide back in the day (back when I was a kid and this game first came out). The octopus was all about expanding everywhere and creating these arms that supported each other. Lemminkainen seems more like a turtle. That's the other archetype I remember. That and eagle, which was all about rushing air plants.

not 100% sure but think it was removed in the latest patch. Now one directly upgrades the factory to get the upgrade center units

Yes, it has upgrade center at T3 stage. You either can upgrade t2 factory to improve some units with HP and DPS.

Damage per second. It's a universal formula used in most games to determine how much damage a unit or structure does every second. The Maverick does something like 667 damage per second which is unbelievably high, way higher than any other unit on T2 by a mile.
