I just love your commentary on each little challenge. 😃 This time we had Enya, turtles, tiny dancers. LOL. So much fun to watch, thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
Video doesn’t do it justice, people don’t realize how tough this truly is until you’re up on that roof doing it yourself ! I’m impressed you managed to place a few sheets. I was lucky to get some help when i got to that step. I didn’t think it would have been possible alone.

Holy moly Graham-Get some gloves!! You’ll save your hands AND time. Cabin looks better every video. 👏🏻
Oh man, this is deeeeeeeply relatable. I sheathed the roof of an Aframe over the course of last fall and this summer. It took so much longer than I thought it would. My confidence hit reality right quick, then had to sit in that misery as I carried every single one of the 2500 square feet of sheathing up the ladder, then back down to get the nailer, back up to nail it, then repeat, many times.

Dude nice! I know how hard it is to work alone on cabinframing, did it myself! These big sheets are no joke and will rob your power!
Every bit goes forward... Progress never goes back.
I have to agree with some of the others…funny stuff here, I’m still chuckling. Your progress is respectable as you work alone so don’t feel like you need to get’r done quickly, listen to your body so we can enjoy more videos. Great work and a Merry Christmas to you and everyone.
Heres a tip for the boards. Throw a rope from the other side. Attach a clamp to the board and the road. Pull it up, release the clamp. Much faster and easier 😊

You brighten my day mate with your dialogue throughout your build. Hi from Oz
Cabin build is looking 🎶 AMAZING 🎵 Merry Christmas Dr Woodness and family!
My nerves. I'm like PLEASE DONT FALL PLEASE DONT FALL. love the content. You crack me up.
Luckily you chose plywood, seems thatOSB sheets are even heavier! But you did it, man! Awesome!

Great progress boss man!!! Keep it safe out there!
Roof time!!!! Woo hoo!! Good mornin!! 🖐😎👍
The other guys! Awesome movie For a DIY roof rack, I use two scrap pieces of 4 by 2. You can bungy tie them to the racks easily. A lot better than lumber resting on your sunroof! Cabin looks great mate.
The other guys! Great movie
Hi, love the video, the humor and the sidenote of woodworking 😄 Maybe a tip for the roofing, you can screw on a 2x4 on the roof for extra footing? Regards from a carpenter from Belgium

Great job Graeme👏 I say roofing harness and a winch, that way you can sit back in the harness and have the winch hoist you up and down with the sheets, I reckon you’d have so much fun. 😂 Shell 🇦🇺

Weird seeing so sunny summer weather there when we have ~20-30cm of snow here in Finland. I really enjoy watching you suffer, lol, but don't get yourself hurt mate! Some rope and a pulley might help you out with the plywood. Get after it!
Great work. Merry Christmas.
My father in law once put roof panels on a barn using a vise grip as a clamp on the panel, with a rope tied to it, then over the ridge to help pull the panel up.

Yep, that’s how I did it. You just have to make sure you have the vice grips right in the centre of the sheet, or have a vice grip/wood clamp at either end of the sheet.
I loved the scaffold you made. Not sure why it came down so soon. But I think you might be missing an improvised work bench. 😝
Merry Christmas baby! 🎄
❤ Great job! Hard work my friend. Happy Christmas 🎄 from Australia xxx❤
Another great video.
I think you've might have packrats, given they seem to have an affinity for your nails. You should probably put a latch on that seat cover and seal up any other holes with spray foam over wire mesh.
I'm here for the banter 😁
lol I just watched The Other Guys two nights ago, such a good movie 😅. Another great video my man!
Graeme, I will drive up there to help you!
your struggles and my painful bicep detachment aren't making this look any easier! But I keep watching :) Rich
So looking fwd to this video.
safety harness and use thin rope pulled plywood up over two*six's leaned against the side of the house.
Add the h clips once sheet is laying flat, use a couple blocks to space sheet and instal clips and it is far easier. You need to use a rope to drag the sheet up a couple runners from the ground to the facia, make life easier. That is a steep roof ,get more l kicker made from scrap on the roof,it aint fun sliding off a roof,i have slid a few time when I was contractor. Your doing a awesome job and making a legacy for sure.

Maybe try a pulley on the main rafter in conjunction with the cleats?
I was always taught that "if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all" who am I to tell anyone what to do or how they should do it, I will give good advice to the best of my ability only if asked. Graham the cabin is looking great, not long now and you will be enjoying that incredible view sipping on a cold brew or a hot cup of coffee what ever your preference or depending on the time of day Lol Take care and you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a great New Years, God bless😇💙❤👍

Great job, really enjoying your building ... singing not so much! Only kidding. Go for it!
Looking great! Could you not rig up some type of pully system to get the boards on the roof?
I don't know if you'll have this finished by the time you received this if you get it but if you have two 20 ft 2 x 4 and random parallel with the slope of the roof every 3 and 3/4 feet put a little piece of wood that way you can run your ply board sideways shimming it up 2 the rafters so you can install and yes the woods have handz
Please don't hurt the rat. She may have babies you know and she deserves to live too. I'm imagining while you're talking with the camera behind you, a bear listening to you with chin in paw saying "yeah, that should work out" LOL

It’s true. For some reason I like the self reliance feeling I get when I’m there. Also I don’t have the same schedule as anyone who could help. But it’s been fun thus far!
Did Grandpa use his "bare" hands, or his "Bear" hands when he built this cabin?? and tell us the story of the epic battle in the Dookie Den......

Those clips are super annoying but I got all mine in. You're younger than me I couldn't have done sheeting that way by holding on with one arm. I built scaffold and used ropes and harness. I hauled up the sheets with rope from the top and it wa a pain. I used 2x4 blocks at each row to hold them temporarily.
Those unsupported ends are going to sag and become a pain to deal with later
You can buy block bait and the bait house for rats and just set it up in the Dookie den and that will help get rid of the rats and mice
I’m a peacock you gotta lemme spread my wings!!
Get someone to help you! 😂
Put some wood up to make a loft. Then measure from fascia in few places. Make marks and set blocks to hold ply. Set ply on marks from off the loft. Watching you sheet the roof is rough.
@WoodnessGoodness
6 ай бұрын
I know. Haha
you really need to get rid of those pine trees right next to the house. if you let them grow to full size you will have problems. nice work though, but you still need to treat the plywood.
a little late now but could of set up some rope and pullies on the trees to pull the wood up? or a makeshift ramp out of some wood and a rope to pull the sheets up like a slide.
