@@michaelnixon8478 Mike, I flew Oscar Devriendt mid to long distance birds that excelled in the heat and the mountains. They are a family from Cattrijsse' ( Cattrysse) and Vandevelde from West Flanders Belgium. They have full, long distance wings and won every distance but Oscar was not allowed to fly middle distance by clubs for being too strong. Powerful birds in the hand. I abandoned Van Riels after attending a pidgeon school where I was given 12 young birds upon completion. I had to fly from Nevada and Utah over 10,000 ft mountains, then °105 heat in San Juaquin valley and few more small ranges . Genus birds are high dollar #1 class. I was happy with the quality just below that level where an "Ace" would appear . Devriendts strength is in the stock loft. Taking short races from sprinters, and leaving them behind after 250-300 miles.Be lucky to get a few back I gave a few friends for stock when I move locations. But I have a few ideas. If i could get anything from Jos Thone ( his culls) anything! I'd go that way. Once you've raced long distance, the confidence is priceless. If bird winning at middle a few times better than margin. I stop em'. May never race again and irreplaceable. You got me goin' on and on. Takes years after instant success. Another issue

It was sad news that’s you delivered today .i want you to know just how much I have enjoyed your videos . It seems that your neighbor’s complained. Here in ny they call them flying rats. Ignorance seems to be the way these days. But I am 72 and I do miss the pigeons so much. Many people seem to down play the sport as some blue collar sport of the past . I can tell you that I have been going to China since 1976 4 times a year on business and the sport is on fire . The way you talk about your dad and how you are with you children speaks volume of who you are . May god bless you all and good luck

@@redstarloft5211 MARK u must be over the moon the way the first season of racing your pigeons has started because u no there is pigeon men in the club racing along time, its GREAT to see it it just shows you can win races by just putting the hard work into the birds, i no you have a few very good stock pigeon's from ur videos, but just well looked after birds healthy&fit, looking forward to your next race hopefully its right up you street and you continue your winning streak in that distance, best of luck DUBLIN IRELAND

I should think you must be happy with the remainder of the young birds you. They've raced reasonably well, and might make promising years and your old bird racing team.

That sucks sorry to hear that Mark I take it neighbors have complained one thing you can try is going to a psychiatrist and getting him to write you a letter stating these are emotional support animals it helps with the city. It completely shuts down landlords. Also the AU has some sort of bio control loft certification you can get that might help you as well. Wish you the best congrats on your wins.

Enjoyed your videos during these trying times. It seems like the towns and cities won't let you keep any animals anymore. What a shame. I love waking up to the sounds of the animals. Pigeons don't hurt anyone not sure why they are so against them. Even in europe where my cousin lives and races pigeons for years he's had to move several times because of complaining neighbors.

Hi Mark just wondering if you are going to pair some of your racing team up together or have you got different plans, or just keep letting ur stock birds rolling out the the youngsters, u must be so HAPPY 😊👍 with the results for your first year i no i would be!!!!!!, just keep ur HARD WORK and things will always work out, BEST OF LUCK IN THE NEXT FEW RACES, DUBLIN IRELAND

Wow 😳 them neighbors and community rules . So what was the main complaints about the birds ?? Was it the noise inside the loft or them landing on there homes ?? Did you flying them a lot in a day or what? Asking cause I have neighbors too 🤦🏽‍♂️. I’m not in the country but me and my birds belong to the country side , one day we will return and build a real loft is a dream of mine . Hope you can take us thru your journey of getting that new loft thank you sir............

HOA sucks I get rid of my pigeons 3 years ago for having them in the backyard they gave me 1 week to remove them or $5,000 fine so I sold over 90 birds for $2.000.00 2 Unikon clocks and and all gone so sad. I will try again in a different place its a nice hobby.

You should focus on the parents of the winners and get more baby’s out of them then ones you lost all the baby’s you shouldn’t keep breeding them together.. also look At the color of the winners at the end of the day color really matter. Good luck 👍

Well i started with almost 60 birds before i started settling and now i am at 20

Mark .you get these ppl living in country side , but they dont want to have ppl keeping chickens , pigeons , they want it all there own way , they should go right bk to citys and town s coz they will never understand, how things work out in the real world, hope you get sorted mate

But you Can keep your breeders ? And nôt fly them ?

What exactly are your neighbors complaining about? I mean, the loft just looks like a shed. And the birds are quiet for the most part right? Or does the loft smell?? Generally curious what the complaint is.
