Race Car on the LA Streets!? Ken Block takes his Hyundai WRC Car out in Los Angeles
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
With the ‘22 American Rally Association season over, I decided to take my Hyundai i20 WRC race car for one last ride-in LA traffic!! It’s wild to think that a competition-spec race car like this can also be street legal, but that’s part of what makes rally racing so special. I met up with Trouble Andrew at his studio and gave him a ride, drove through Hollywood, then eventually met up with good friends Rob Dyrdek and Damon Way for a cruise up to Malibu to get dinner before saying goodbye and sending the race car back to Europe.
I shred the yard in my Hyundai i20 WRC car (last episode): • Ken Block’s Hyundai i2...

Really sucks that we won’t be able to enjoy any new videos from Ken Block. What a likable guy with so much talent. Sincere heartfelt thoughts to his family for their loss, as well as to his closest friends. He was surrounded by good people who loved him and I’m sure he knew that. Thank you for all the amazing entertainment you’ve given us over the years. Rest In Peace, sir.

This kind of stuff is what I'm going to miss most, he brought these hero cars to the streets for the people as much as he did for the experience. He was a unique individual. He was a good man and great father. He was a pure soul that this world couldnt afford to lose, he brought us all together for the love of AWD burnouts and extraordinary gearhead moments. The grin on his face when he was revving the engine at the stoplight in downtown said it all. Farewell friend, you will be missed by this weirdo Ken.
Just read Da Man is dead. Can't believe it. I remember him teaching his daughter to do donuts. Got me quite a good moments during lockdown. Thank you Ken ! Thank you Lia ! Sorry for your loss.

Reminds me of when I drove my Group 2 spec Golf in quebec city after a rally , what a nightmare that was. Full race engines with kevlar clutches are not good at stop and go traffic, stalled 50 times, no brakes because couldn’t get heat in them . The noise , the heat , methanol , no police escort . Worth it.
So cool Ken got to hang out with his friends one last time. RIP up tracks in heaven ❤️

@@bubba03wrx ---- someone should set up a ralley race either up in Malibu and then along Mulholland through the Santa Monica moujtains, or up Angeles Crest through the San Gabriel mountains. Those are just the obvious routes. Luke you said, there are soooo many great canyon roads, single lane and rough with tight steep curves that are banked, and wider two lanes, well maintained and all the fire roads that connect everything. It would be fun mapping out stages for a two or three day race. Two days in the canyons and day three could be out in the high desert like out off the 14, Pear Blossom Highway behind the mountains on the backroads to Wrightwood or out to El Mirage Dry Lake Bed near Edwards Air Force Base. Set a course partially on the dry lake bed and then into the soft sandy whoop dee doos. That's just around LA, there's so much more as you go south into Riverside, Indio, Imperial Valley, San Diego County.
