Rabid Raccoon

This poor little guy was displaying signs of rabies. Roaming in circles, falling down, aggressive behavior. I wouldn't have gotten so close if it were not for the chain link fence. I contacted our local Animal Control. I've yet to hear from them.
Added 6/30/22 -- Geez, gimme a break. I had just posted the video before I heard back from our local wildlife rescuer. The raccoon was captured and taken care of humanely. I do not know the outcome.

I don't think this raccoon has rabies. It's not acting like it's sickening in any way but it does look scared and frightened. It's not unusual to see raccoons out in the daylight hours. But I see no indication of possible rabies

That's more the signs of distemper or poisoning than rabies. The only way to know if a raccoon has rabies is to test it's brain...that is done with a necropsy. One can't tell that even by behavior when they are alive as it could be either of the aforementioned illnesses.

Please do not approach or come near any animals that behaves like that if you got infected by it you will have the symptoms of: fever, sore throat, stiff muscles, headache, tiredness, restlessness, nausea, and itching or tingling at the site of the bite. and it will last for 30-50 days

Once symptoms start, you die within 2 to 10 days. I think what you meant is that the average incubation period is 1-3 months but can happen as quickly as 4 days after exposure or as late as upwards of several years. After onset of symptoms rabies has a 99.9% mortality rate. All bites from animals of unknown vaccination status should be treated as a potential rabies case p, especially if the animal is not caught, as rabies is 100% preventable if you are administered the vaccine before symptoms appear.

I feed about 20 raccoons every night. Some will sit there and watch you as much as you watch them. Normally the younger ones are that curious. This one here in the video looks like a juvenile being curious about what that person is doing. But it is best though if you're not sure to just stay away. Better safe than sorry. I myself would walk right up on it,with gloves on of course, and try to see if it was ok or not. I have alot of experience with raccoons from raising and feeding them.

Looks more like distemper to me. A few years ago, at my farm, I had a raccoon come up to me, walk around me and through my legs, never aggressive but seemed to have neurotic fits, pain in the head I thought. I loaded up 1 cc of a 350K penicillin in pieces of hot dog which he ate as he was very hungry. The next morning he came up to me, walked around me, stood up as if wanting me to pick him up (which I would never do) and then took off in a straight line to the east. I never saw him again.
