To those saying not to touch the babies after they are born or else the mother won’t feed them: Would you have left the hairless still bloody baby on the cold tile floor to die? Rabbits only abandon or eat their babies if strangers or people they don’t trust touch their babies, even then sometimes they don’t. Every doe is different, some are more picky, some are more laid back. It all depends on the doe. Personally I’ve had my Flemish giant doe (who had a nest all ready made) jump on my bed with me and give birth next to me because she wanted comfort. Although I never touch does or bother them when they are giving birth if they ask for comfort of course they’ll get it. Rabbits are prey animals and while they are giving birth they are easiest to catch. Therefore they don’t normally like being touched but that being said, it doesn’t mean the doe won’t come back for her babies. After giving birth it is normal for the mother to eat the placenta and clean the baby and then leave. Does do not stay with the babies. They come back to feed them once or twice a day, again depending on the doe and the amount of milk she produces. Thank you for listening to my rant on some myths about does and kits and remember check on your baby bunnies to make sure there isn’t a dead or injured one left in the nest! It’s so amazing to me how they go from tiny, pale little creatures to furry, pretty baby bunnies within two weeks. The process is so cool to me. My bunny was just born two days ago, in another 8 weeks I’ll be getting them! I’m so excited. Mom and baby here are both so gorgeous!

I had a rabbit with blue eyes but sadly i had to sell it cux me and my family were moving to another island and we couldnt bring my rabbit along

That's a pet rabbit, and seems like one that was raised indoors, weird that she only had 1 baby. My dwarf lop, who looked exactly like her, had a litter of 8. She was a first time mom, and she gave birth in the afternoon all by herself, all grew up into very healthy rabbits, we got most of them adopted, think it was 3 that we gave to a garden centre that sold pet rabbits, coincidentially the same place where we bought her lol.

Rabbits do not abandon their kits if they are handled. That's a myth! My girl had one, and she didn't feed it. It was cold and wrinkly after more than 24h. He spent the next few days in my shirt and I bottle-fed him. I gave him back to his mom after a few days to see if she would start feeding him, which she did.

@@abhishekkaushik3904 ya I know that it's very painful but dude it's not necessary that u will get kick there its ur own choice generally toh dost log hi majak majak mai marte hai toh it's not a natural rather its created by some people and ya kick is more painful but it last for 10 to 15 min while labour pain 17 to 20 plus the hormonal changes which causes irritation so ya u can imagine which is more difficult

@@katarinask139 false i'm a daughter of a farmer, we have thousands of rabbits. you have to touch the kits to check up on them to see if they are fed well by the mother and to see if they are having complications. the mother doesn't mind. if she wants her kit left alone she would go on top of them or thump her back legs. mothers killing their babies when they feel threaten or scared is a myth.....
