Rabbi Singer got it wrong: Isaiah 53:8 Victory for Jesus

After a careful study, I have found that Chabad, Mechon Mamre, 4 Hebrew Bibles, and Christian Old Testaments all agree that Isaiah 53:8 is translated as "he" (as a man). Only Rabbi Singer stands alone with a different version-what I will call the "Rabbi Singer Translation."

Thank you. Even Isaiah 42, which Rabbi Singer said is about Israel, is nowhere near about Israel: "Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. 2 He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. 3 A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; 4 he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope.” (NIV)

The servant Messiah is Jesus. Israel cannot die for Israel. Israel needs a Savior. That Savior is Yeshua (Hebrew for Jesus). Thank you for the question.

To who is he speaking too my friend. I think he speaking to Gentles King of Nations isaiah 52 10 verse So will he startle many nations! Kings will shut their Mouths Because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand. AND Isaiah 53 8 verse By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who could have imagined such a generation? For he was cut off from the land of the living. For the transgressionof my people (they)were punished. It a war with the Nation of Israel not Jesus Read wall the chapter of Isaiah 1 to 66 complete Thank you

There are people who genuinely get it wrong and there are others who simply lie. Singer didn't get it wrong.

The Rabbi Singer Translation of the Tanakh very often disagrees with Judaism; perhaps that's why he never says where he gets his quotes from. Leaving out the source leads some people to believe he's using an authorized version of the Tanakh, which he very often is not. Then there are those who simply blindly follow and believe whatever he says.
