Whosoever has written lyrics for this song has done a most magnificent job. His writing proves the richness of the Punjabi language which has been sown by the poet in a magnificent way and has exposed the beauty of richness of the Punjabi language. I had heard a lot about Amrita Pritam's writings about Punbabi language but this writer has proved the depth and inner richness of the Punbai language and above that Zeenat Begum has done a most marvellous job by singing this song.. Unforgettable.

An excellent song. I have been able to listen this song after sixty years.All these years I have been yearning to hear this song and by the Grace of God have been ultimately able to hear it. Zeenat Begum is excellent. Lyrics are just fantastic and she has sung it so beautifully that one is amazed at the composition.It is one of the most remarkable Punjabi songs. Yes, after hearing this song I have come to the conclusion that Punjabi culture too is very rich also.

I have heard this song when I was a kid in 1954 and the music is still in my memory .I used to enjoy another punjabi number(kite te lawan mein tahliyan ,ve pata walia ve mera patla mahi,kite te lawan main shahtoot ve mainu samaj na aave.) But I am unable to find this song ,a female voice with a heart rendering music which I heard in 1954.Can anybody help ? sstulsi

I am also in quest of it's lyricist but the composer of this immortal song is none other than Great Master Inayat Hussain . Master Ji repeated this tune very skilfully in Ik Tera Sahara ( Ghangor ghata lehrai hai , Nasim Begam) and than in Dulla Bhatti with the same mukhra in the voice of Noorjehan .Master Ji recorded innumerable hit private ( Non Filmi) songs and ghazals in the voices of Zaanat Begam Munawwar Sultana and Malika Pukhraj for H M V in the advent of his career.

That was Zeenat Beghum from late forties. The song is absolutely divine. Chaste Punjabi. She also acted in Punjabi and Hindi movies. rk
