USTAD GHULAM ABBAS KHAN
One of the prominent vocalists of India,Ustad Ghulam Abbas Khan belongs to the RAMPUR-SAHASWAN GHARANA which owes its allegiance to MIYAN TANSEN's tradition. He was initiated into music at a tender age by his grand father, Late Ustad Ghulam Jafar Khan, an artist of International repute. Later he continued his training under the worthy guidance of his father Padmashri Ustad Ghulam Sadiq Khan, a classical vocalist of International fame. Fortunately, Ghulam Abbas happens to be the grandson of the great classical vocalist of India late Ustad Mushtaq Husain Khan who was the first recipient of Padmabhushan Award.
Gifted with a sonorous and mellifluous voice, Ghulam Abbas specializes in Khayal style which highlights the systematic badhat of Raga, intricate and graceful Sapat Tanas of Full Three Octaves, smooth Meend and well knited Sargam pattern.
Apart from Khayal Ghulam Abbas also renders Thumri, Tarana, Tappa, Ghazal. Sufi and Bhajan with equal ease and dexterity.
He has performed extensively in many prestigious Festivals and Concerts in different places of India and abroad namely UK, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Thailand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E. and Oman etc. He was invited by the Government of Mauritius to perform for the 100th Birth Anniversary of Sir Abdul Razzak Mohamed. He has also performed for the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shaukat Aziz.
In 2007 Ghulam Abbas Khan pererformed in a special concert held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in front of Honorable President of India , Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
He has released few Albums of Indian Classical Vocal (Khayal),Ghazals, Sufi and Geets. He also sang for Bollywood films and TV Serials. Abbas is not only a talented vocalist but also a successful Music Director. He has composed music for many established singers of the country like and provided music for Bollywood films and TV Serials.
Ghulam Abbas Khan has trained many students in Indian Classical music in India and abroad. Many times he has been invited exclusively for Lecture Demonstration in different parts of the world.

युँ तो राग विद्या सबसे बड़ी विद्या सर्व मान्य है सम्पूर्ण कलाओं विद्याओं आदि स्मृतियों उपनिषदों पुराणों में प्रथम स्थान में इस विद्या का नाम आता है अब प्रश्न उठता है कोई इसे कैसे प्रस्तुत करे यह राग दुर्गा अति प्राचीनतम रागों में से एक ऐसा राग है जिसका गायन बहुत ही सुन्दर और मधुर लगता है राग की शुद्वता हमारे राम पूर सहसंवान घराने की प्रमुख विशेषता है और इस बंदिश में हमारे आदरणीय उस्ताद गुलाम अब्बास ख़ाँ साहेब जी नें चार चाँद लगा दिये ! ! अति उत्तम वाह सुनकर आनंद ही नहीं परमानंद आ गया
बहूत ही ख़ूबसूरत गायकी के सरवराह हैं ग़ुलाम अब्बास साहब क्या बात है बहुत बढ़िया
कितना मधुर गायन और कितना स्पष्ट शब्दों का उच्चारण! गायकी में ऐसा क्वचित ही सुनने को मिलता है। अधिकतर गायक शब्दों को तोड़-मरोड़ कर पेश करते हैं।

I really enjoyed the music Guruji very much. This is one of my favorite Ragas. I wish I could learn from you the way you sing. I am 89 years old and I like to learn.
Iss raga ki bandish pr zara gaur karo zindagi ki haqiqat kiya hai sab samjh jao ge, zindagi mein aadmi ko sirf in 3 cheezon ki hi fikr hoti hai roop-joban aur gun(qualities) aur yahi sabh cheezen sabh qismat k aage bebas rehti hain....aur bandish ki doosri line toh aik warning ki tarah lagti hai k "uss ne toh sach keh diya hai ab tumhari marzi mano ya mano" aur phir last mein " ja re ja re bhanwra" mere khayal se iss se ziyada judai ko bayan nahin kiya ja sakta ....aakhir mein ustad k liye bohat sara piyar k unhon ne iss tarah iss raga ko gaya...............

Sir Khayal gaayeki mein mithaas aur boli ko safaai se gaane Ko agar aap thumri kehte hain to maafi maangte huay kehna padega k aapne khayal gaayeki suni nahi. ISS pooray rendition mein agar ek jagha Pehchaan Kar kahein k ye thumri ang hai to main aapko sahi samjhoon. Thumri ka chalan aur Khayal ka chalan alag hota hai. Agar neerasta Ko aap Khayal kehte hain to woh bhi ghalat hai.
