It's T/O variability. The diamond Q T/O was pretty fast. The circle Q T/O seemed rather cautious. He went slow on the express runs, and slowed down a lot for the timers at 49th Street. It's also possible there was an N in front of the circle Q which explains why it was delayed to allow the N to get in front. That could have caused circle Q to hit yellow signals, but circle Q slowed down much more for the timer at 49th Street than diamond Q did.

Collin Parsons: You also have to consider CI has only been operating the R68/As since the 80s. The R46s (post-GOH) have only operated from CI since December. The crews are still getting used to them. You make a good point on T/Os.

The diamond Q was around years ago but was replaced by the B train in Brooklyn

They could have made B Trains run local and have four Q Trains to run express two of them in each direction, just like what they did to the F Train

Well some Q trains run via Brighton Express.

The (N) blocked the circle (Q) at the Dekalb Interlocking. If you look closely towards the left, you can see R46-type LEDs indicative of a bypassing (N) train

Avery the Cuban-American When I lived in Flatbush I used to look at that everyday on the Q

I think the fact that the Circle Q in your comparison was from a time early during the isolation rules makes a difference. There were probably more people and more traffic on the tracks which is why there was a delay. But, either way, congratulations Shiny Ms Suprtoe.

Circle Q train is the local line & the diamond Q train is the express line, so you know the rest between local and express trains of the subway
