R22 Walk in Cooler is warm. Pumping down a system to replace a liquid line solenoid

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I will show how to pump a system down to the receiver via the king valve in order to replace a liquid line solenoid and will go over the R22 Pt chart and saturation temperatures.

    Would have been helpful if you showed how you managed the vacuum and the nitro flow for the braze repairs. Missing some good info here. Thanks for the video.

    He at least mentioned it in the process; if someone new in the trade uses this video as a guide, it could damage the unit.

    I don’t have room in my truck for an empty recovery cylinder but it’s a good idea for R22.

    Love your videos usually but this one the box temp findings seem a little off… at first you say you want to achieve SST 42F> 71.6psig (which seems a little high) then at the end of the video the result temps/pressures it doesn’t correlate anywhere close to this.. also you used actual box temp instead of previously the desired box temp.. just wondering why? I would have used for eg desired Box temp 36F - 12F = 24F SST= 47.6psig. Still learning just looking for clarity…

    A cap tube is fixed, meaning the pressures won’t drop as the temperature drops. This is why we use desired box temp. A TXV meters the refrigerant into the coil. So as the temperature in the box drops, the pressure will drop with it to attempt to maintain a 10TD and/or superheat.

    No vacuum on the liquid line? Would have to add a process valve. What did you do ?

  • @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH

    @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes absolutely need to vacuum, or non condensibles will most likely form in th4 system. The vacuum was done with both the receiver and compressor suction valves front seated. Can’t do a nitrogen test because these valves love to leak, so we use the refrigerant that’s in the System.

    🇺🇲💪👍❄️ great informative vid. When ur doing manual pumpdown the tstat needs to b calling so solenoid is energized so all refrigerant is out of low side, correct?

  • @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH

    @REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH

    In just a normal pump down, the solenoid valve should be closed (thermostat is not calling for cooling) which will pump out all of the refrigerant between the solenoid and the suction valve on the compressor.
