Phenomenon can not be compared to anyone, it was unstoppable. Chosen the best player in the world with only 20 years. Elected 3 times best player in the world with knee injuries and in the era of countless Gods of Soccer players. Champion of the World Cup by 2 times, being top scorer of the Cups with 15 goals.

R9 the real "Phenomenon" is the best. In Italy he's been a monster (and I'm not an Inter FC supporter)!!! Unfortunately he broke his knee 2 times. Ronaldinho' s been the best to watch play: a pleasure for eyes. CR7 Who? Being serious He's the demonstration that a really Good player, with hard work, can be a superchampion, but being "phenomenous" it's a different thing!!

R9 revolutionised the striker role in the 90's. There had never been a striker that played like R9 with his pace, skill, strength, tricks and deadly finishing, he was the complete striker. He played in Serie in the late 90's the strongest league in the world at the time and gave all time great defenders like Maldini, Costacurta, Cannavaro, Thuram, Nesta, Zanetti etc absolute hell. As for signature skills When R9, came on the scene every kid I knew around during World Cup 98 was trying to copy R9's insanely fast stepovers and his elasticos. Long before the likes of CR7 and Ronaldinho was doing them. There will never be a striker like R9 again. Oh and Ashley Cole always had CR7 in his pocket.

Fabricio perez r9 knee was completly gone at 2000, then he passed 1 and a half year without playing and went straight to the world cup, even though he was able to score every world cup match, 2 goals on the final, won the world cup, and won the golden ball, all in the same year... He was recovering man! Cr7 never had to face something like this

A gift Brazil gave to the world is our football. What R9 and R10 have in common is that they learned to play futsal when they are young. It's where they develop their skills. In fact a kid in BR will normally have contact with futsal daily in school during their childhood and adolescence. If you look for Falcão (the best futsal player of all time) you'll understand the magic from R9 and R10. As we say here: they drank from the same fountain!

R9 signature moves are the stepovers and nutmegs( king of nutmegs)

It was R9's combination of speed and footwork. He didn't showboat, he beasted it down the pitch and would do small tricks to confuse the hell out of defenders. When you see him full speed you'll get why he was better than the other two.

R9 is the second best scorer of the history of the world cup with 14 goals . He played in 1994, 1998, 2000, and 2006 world cup. He won the world cup twice with his national team , Brazil in 1994 and 2000 He got his leg broken twice throughout his career ( the same leg) it was on one the reason he retired earlier than his colleagues then at his time !

not really, the main reason was due to hormonal issues, he just couldnt play because the medicine he needed was considered dopping so instead of risking a ban, or get overweight he decided to stop. thats also why he is way bigger now.

Basically at 7:22 you asked his signature move, literally just as you asked he did it. It was humiliating goalkeepers by the step over move and then...bam! goal

"How can you not smile watching him" That's how every soccer fan feels watching him

R10 and CR7 are great. R9 was a freak! a monster! The phenomenon! He was scary! Maybe you didn't notice, his signature was the ability and the pace. The guy was very skilled just standing there and then once he started moving he was impossible to stop. I remember defenders holding him by the shirt or the arms and he just kept moving forward. Then he could just suddenly stop and run in a different direction sometimes 2 or even 3 defender chasing him would end on the ground. He was a striker but he could just take the ball in mid field and run pass all the defense and score. He never missed and usually dribbled even the goal keeper before scoring. At his peak R9 was something else, no one was more destructive than he was. It's was ridiculous how often he just cut through whole of opposition defence as if it was child's play.

it goes to show the player style, Ronaldinho was like loki, the trickster, he was able to get away by just moving really fast, he made it almost impossible for the defender to know where the ball was, and he could see everything almost like he was predicting the enemies, and pass the ball to someone they couldnt see. Christiano Ronaldo is like Odin, if he see something, he can hit it, he is able to finish impossible goals because of his amazing control, in the field he is unmatched by his pin point accuracy. Ronaldo was like Poseidon, relentless, and no matter what, nothing could stop him, he was able to get through the defense out of sheer power, and when you thought that you got him for sure, he would just slide around, and get away.

joe taylor it’s a disrespect for cristiano, not ronaldinho and ronaldo da lima. Yes, both of them are legends but reaching cristianos or messi’s level takes more than a miracle, did they score more than 500 goals ? do they have records broken by them in the champions league or la liga ? no, did they performe the same way for more than 10 years ? no, especially ronaldinho, he was good for just 4 years at barca, then he was so bad at milan, ronaldinho at 32 was at brazil, cristiano at 32 is winning ballondors and scoring hattricks in decisive matches in the cl, the only thing those two are better than cristiano is that they have a world cup just that.

@Xavi Georgio I know him but comparing world cup which is held every 4 years to club games plus national games CR7 is great. Also, if m not mistaken Brazil was one of the best team at that time. Overall stats of Brazil was too high compared to other nations. As you can see Cristiano's national team was never too strong to compete in world cup but he always did good for his country side. He was high scorer of his national team and 2nd high scorer for the international games.

to people new to football, r10's tricks flicks etc are mind blowing. cr7 is stepovers and 50,000 goals but r9 ronaldo was both players together right at 17. he didnt need to 'develop', he didnt do tricks when a simple pass was needed. he injuries destroyed an already amazing career. great players. Messi is still the greatest, even r9 said it. r9 is still more fun to watch. i have every match he played for inter, real madrid,brasil,barcelona on vhs tapes, i was obsessed.

Joao Vitor Sousa cara na minha opinião eu não consigo nem comparar,se eles jogassem o que jogavam antigamente hoje no futebol, esses jogadores de hoje seriam nada perto deles, e o futebol daquela época era muito melhor que o de hoje.

1. Real Ronaldo: was a devastating striker. Knocking him off his feet was almost impossible 2. Little Ronaldo aka Ronaldinho: his touch was outworldly. So far no one has been able to come close to his ball handling skills but he had less of an impact on world soccer than Ronaldo. He loved teh nightlife and knew(knows) how to live and enjoy life. these 2 were so far ahead of anyone else they are in a class of their own 3. Cristiano Ronaldo: A good player but he shouldn't even be in the same conversation with Ronaldo or Ronaldinho
