R-Type Final 2 [5] Decaying Erosion Cave

Ойындар

The biggest issue with the second level is how long it is, and how much I have to replay to get back. There is an option to retain powerups when you die, so I could actually use checkpoints, but it costs a ticket that you buy from the in-game shop and I don't have the currency to buy as many as I'd need to.

Always loved how meaningful the Force is in R-Type games, they always have those bosses where they say, "Hey BTW in case you forgot the Force IS still just a piece of Bydo. Just thought we'd remind you."

Funny/Ironic that Naka did the traditional "sacrifice your force to defeat the Bydo Core" with one of the Image Fight ships that don't use Bydo based weaponry.

The reason why the forces exist is to help the pilots of the R-type units fight the Bydo. The reason why the Bydo exist is they were supposed to fight an existential offscreen dread in the 26th century they were originally created to stop, as you can imagine the Bydo were likely heavily mistreated by humanity during that fight for survival and thus started to time travel to attack earth. The time travel always happened within a set period of time in the 22nd century and also dimensional warping is involved, so it's not all happening in a single dimension but across several. It makes you wonder what future humanity had to fight against so desperately that they'd ultimately resort to creating the reality warping and twisting seemingly eldritch Bydo to even survive. The reason why you're researching R-types is so you might not have to create the Bydo to deal with the enemy that the Bydo was created to fight, so you might not have to eventually create the Bydo that time traveled to attack the earth. Lots of time travel and interdimensional nonsense is involved in every R-type game really. Developing Forces and Bits is a step in the direction of creating the Bydo in the first place... since Bits are also created with minimal Bydo energy. In comparison to Bits, 'Forces' are considered indestructible weapons, that one can even be destroyed is something to be quite worried about as seen here. A Force is grown from embryonic Bydo flesh and needs several control rods to be properly controlled by the pilot, so really what your wielding is an energy based lifeform as a shield to block projectiles in every R-type game. The Leo R-Type is fairly powerful and robust in horizontal screen coverage in this game and has the Leo Force. In the game R-type Leo, the R9-Leo combat ship was a successor to the original R-9. It did not have a force pod or a delta weapon in it's game, it instead fired it's bits at the problem instead of having a wave cannon. R-Type Mariko, a pinacle of the OFX series, it will also changes appearance when going at higher speeds.

For stage 6 you said all I have to say, it's a pretty chill stage. Nice and easy to sightread. Stage 7: First off I the music is amazing as is the stage concept of a mass of R-Fighter wrecks, rarely have I ever had a game deliver this hard on atmosphere (even tho we are in space : P). Probably my favourite song in the game. The boss R-Fighter is a Happy Days. The Final Boss of the route is really cool looking too. Second off Mariko is a fun ship. The purple pods switch between acting like red and blue bits every time you fire them off by detaching the force, something I didn't notice until I had it pointed out to me. The force also changes appearance depending on weapon. One thing I noticed about Final 2 in general is that it really likes giving you a blue beam. Personally I usually go with the Green Pods over Purple, since I prefer the bidirectional fire over the power the purple gives. My prefered OF Force is the OF Force 2, Red is the Ring Laser, which does good damage point blank and also good area control, Blue is kinda meh but not unusable bouncy balls and Yellow is a nice straightforward shot that can do some vertical course correction (The one like the Blue laser used in the video, but two 45o angles ending back on horizontal rather than the 90o angle the Blue used). I haven't tried out the purple wave cannons since I assumed they would be weaker than the standard one in exchange for the aiming function. The strongest of the Standard Wave Cannons available is plenty strong even with a partial charge and can punch thru most tanky enemies without too much trouble. My original clear was with the Albatross, as my first final stage try and first final stage clear, with no continues. Decided on it because everyone was saying how good it was at keeping you alive and I really didn't wanna lose the run right at the end. The adrenaline high was something else, my other route clears were with continues and it just was not the same feeling. Sure I won and felt good, but not on top of the world like without continues. Using the blue laser's lock on property handled things pretty well, any big damage done by detaching the force for it's drone function. At one point it got stuck behind the boss' head which lead to some pretty interesting gameplay. There are a few enemies I have noticed that can act as traps for your force, like the big plants in stage 2.

Going trough the vastness of space.... 14:15 - That's kind of terrifying. 15:37 - It looks similar to the nucleus type of enemies from Phantasy Star II.

The raw number of ships that we sent, that so many of them could end up in one place, and form... that. The loss of life, wave after wave. It's a grim thing, isn't it?

I feel like this is a distorted space representing the lost ships and not a literal graveyard. Even given the astronomical number of ships we sent after the Bydo I feel like the amount shown here is on a different scale. I remember wanting to do some quick math to approximate the number visible here, but a wild guess would be nearly a trillion.

Bydo Dimension is connected to a lot of realities... and across multiple times and space. Any ship that didn't immediately exploded, and went into some form of dimensional boundary, ended up in the R-type graveyard or ended up like Cerberus which stayed relatively normal in appearance or turn into a Bydo Infected R-Type like the B-1D Bydo System Alpha. The experimental B1-D series of R-type ships have been hinted at having a habit of attempting to turn their pilots while they are piloting them despite the power they offer... Self-destruct mechanisms were probably preferred to being taken alive by the Bydo.

Possibly it's all the ships across all possible timelines of the war. Though you do have a point, so many Bydo things are emotion, DYNAMIS....

i really liked the Options in Gradius being able to copy the Vic Viper's weaponry, so the R-9Leo would probably be my favorite ship just off of that. (or at least the Psy Bit my favorite Bit)

Ok so as i watched this LP i actually got curious about the copy of the game i have and looked up one thing... there used to be a "get all the dlc stages for 20 Euros" thing... its gone now and instead they have them in bundles of 2 for like 6.99 each. It kinda rubbed me the wrong way especially when the Mariko was for that same price
