Most underrated Namco Racer ever. This game was made 3 years after Ridge Racer 5. The music is very good and the cars and graphics are very nice for 2003. You showing us all the cars like Impreza, Calsonic Skyline and ESSO Supra makes me happy. Thank you very much. ❤️❤️❤️

I'd say Racing Evolution is more akin to GT3, whereas Enthusia is more GT4-like.

I remember this game, it felt like I'm watching an anime during races cos of the dialogue it had with the racers and the crew chief. It was great!

Funnily the real Abarth 850 and Abarth 1000 touring cars were thicker (and much slower) than this game's FIAT 500 racecar

@Mark Lutus that's correct actually, after jtcc was replaced by jgtc which only allow 2 wheel drive, all nissan cars were 2wd. Well it seems like in supergt 4wd is allowed though, since there is an awd subaru on 2006~8 ish. But I guess since the cars now really light and can produce a lot of downforce doesn't seem like using 4wd is worth the effort

The PAL version has more cars, Ford Puma, TVR 12, an RUF, but the rom is seemingly impossible to find Edit: The Xbox also had an exclusive Hummer H1

Bro, you've played all the good racing games huh? I bet your were big fan of the TXR series!!! The music in this game is the best. I have so much of it on my playlist. Also, Rena and Gina are ultimate waifus. Might fire up the emulator and play through this again. Wish I had my ps2 still.

Those cars on the selection screen still look so pretty. The arcade mode theme still slaps too.

Car license games are hard to get rereleases. Otherwise we'd have Sony's Gran Turismo series all available on Playstation Store or Playstation Plus and Gran Turismo 2 woulda been on PS Classic Mini

It allways watching and allways giving me the Ace Combat feels, not only for the AWA- I mean, Pit telling the status, the other racers talking, even this, not only the manufacturer and the car, also the stats, top speed, acceleration, handling and braking with a little stylized information of their car. This is why: Pit as AWACS. Rivals as Enemies. Car status as Aircrafts, Top Speed/Max Speed(Aircraft), Handling/Maneuverability(Aircraft), Little information of car/aircraft. Both made by Namco.

Ace combat and Ridge racer share universe. While the other Ridge games using fictional cars could be connected to the strangereal Ace games. R: Racing evolution is to Ridge what Assault horizon is to Ace.

There was the option for see the machines, but the theme used fro Challenge and Free Race suits better. The other one is like seeing your own museum

The game seems to have a good variety of cars to choose from.

There is TVR Speed 12 and RUF RGT but it's only available on PAL instead of NTSC.

My uncle was in Japan and he sent me a PS2 with this game, and it was the Japanese game so it had default Japanese writing and interface, I was so stupid I thought there was NO language select, so i had to experiment every menu selection to figure out the game back then😂 I played this game for soo many hours i remembered all the japanese writings This game is a 10/10💕 The soundtrack still resonates in my head

Its the saleen/Allen speedlab livery from the Laguna Seca ALMS 2000 race, u can see the GTS class and number 55 sticker on it so they just took it from there.

Technically no. Although they’re all called GT40s, it was the Mk2 in ‘66, Mk4 in ‘67, and then the Mk1 twice in ‘68-9.

Well some series homologate and use certain brand of tires, but sponsorship is not prohibited for other brands. An example are the Dunlop advertisments on Le mans while the entire cstegory uses Michelín...

Only available in the PAL version, it also includes the Ford PUMA, RUF RGT, and some possibly, but I can't remember them, sorry, I stick around with the NTSC U/C, although I can play any region, due I modded my ps2 slim
