I don't understand. Why would Mamedov give up for losing a bishop? At first I thought it would be checkmate on the next move, but I realized that the rook on g8 is preventing Qg2#. Why should a grandmaster like him resign so soon? I mean, it is possible that Magnus might blunder, right?

+Aravind Somaraj The position is completely lost, he grabs the bishop with check and there are all sorts of threats afterwards, he can even exchange queens with some variation of Qh1+ - I think it's justified to resign here
