R. Kelly has confessed in an interview to being in love with late singer and actress Aaliyah.

The man dubbed the ‘King of R&B’ is alleged to have secretly and illegally married Aaliyah when she was 15-years-old…
In a rare interview with GQ magazine, R. Kelly opens up about his relationship with R&B star Aaliyah, who died in 2001, when her small plane crashed after takeoff in the Bahamas.
Their alleged marriage remains a contentious issue to this day. It’s believed that Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash 2001, got married to Kelly, who was 27-years-old at the time. She was only 15. Their marriage was annulled just over five months later.
Kelly told the magazine he was fascinated by Aaliyah’s music at first.
He says, “I heard first of all this soft voice, but very…a lot of charisma. And I saw her as a star the minute I heard her sing and dance. Saw her dance. She wasn't the greatest dancer, but the dance moves she was doing were different than the other dancers that I've seen on television. And I said, ‘This girl's gonna be a star, whether I work with her or not.’ ”

He continues saying they shared a, “deep” friendship adding that, “She's a Capricorn, I'm a Capricorn, my momma a Capricorn, her daddy's a Capricorn, you know. It was just so much in common with each other.”
Kelly goes on to share how he really felt about Aaliyah but steered clear of their rumoured marriage.
“Out of respect for her mother who's sick and her father who's passed, I will never have that conversation with anyone. Out of respect for Aaliyah, and her mother and father who has asked me not to personally. But I can tell you I loved her, I can tell you she loved me, we was very close. We were, you know, best best best best friends.”

Exactly this interview was when the marriage was over already… but she didn’t lie about if she was ever she just decided to not give any more info
It took so long for him to be held accountable. He shouldn’t be the only one in prison.
Both Aaliyah and Kelly talked in circles about the illegal marriage so I believe it was actually true. I think there was a legal agreement.

she never denied never being married#fact They had a agreement/NDA that was resolved in court for i think just $100 to never discuss any details. Aaliyah and her family were amicable in regards to this

Wow, when he was at the award show & thanked 2 people, his mom, well of course that’s okay but then when he says my very best friend Aaliyah, wasn’t she only 15 & he was 27, wow, his best friend is a teenager & he’s a grown man. Then when he’s asked do you think it’s wrong for a man to sleep with an underage girl & he says not if they’re in love, huh? for clarification he says "i loved her" which can be taking as 2 things i was in love with her orrrr I have for love her. i think they at one point were in love but realized they couldn't be together bc of her age nd what the public would think... then the whole marriage scandal happened n everyone assumes it was real. 1.the media will take anything twist it n run with it. 2. if they had gotten married he would have to be in the presence of te people marrying the. at that point he would have been in Detroit doing shows. people forget he had a career too n they didn't go everywhere tg although frequent contact to one another was definitely there n mutual. its crazy bc transcripts have come out in which state the marriage never happened. the manager wanted their names out there more so he decided that was best thing to do which brought trouble and trauma for both parties involved

I loved both of their music. These two were magic together. I don't care about their personal lives but professional wise. Omg. They were the dream team. She imo was the female r Kelly. Her music and her beats when r Kelly was her producer was like him. I always loved Aaliyah's and r Kelly music to this day. Nothing gonna change that. Ever.
