Anthony, thank you for doing this for Tina Turner. Means so much to me! She was Simply the Best! She was the only woman performer who could fill Wembley with 80,000 people. They were there to see her! Thank you so much!

Such sad news! Another one of the greats is gone. Tina Turner was the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll". She spanned over 6 decades of music. She started out with her husband Ike & had some great hits such as "Proud Mary", "It's Gonna Work Out Fine", "River Deep-Mountain High" & "Nutbush City Limits". But she had even bigger hits when she went solo such as "Better Be Good To Me", "Private Dancer", "We Don't Need Another Hero (from Thunderdome)", "Typical Male", "The Best", "I Don't Wanna Fight", "GoldenEye" (James Bond movie), "It's Only Love" (duet with Bryan Adams) etc.

Tina’s prime was in the 1960s-1970s. She finally escaped her abusive husband and manager, and disappeared from the scene, and made her come back in her 40s during the 1980s! I mentioned one Rolling Stone article about rappers using her tragedy as punch lines all these decades, but one said that she was too rock and roll to be R&B and too R&B to be Rock and Roll. To appreciate her fully, just like most musicians (including BTS I found) we have to see their WHOLE STORY. If you see her perform in the 1960s and 70s and see her here, it is AMAZING that her career span about 60 years!!!! RIP QUEEN!! WAIT, you WERE BORN IN MID 1990s…???

I read this on my local new station and it's still hard to believe - Ms. Turner was such a force of nature she seemed immortal. "Simply the Best", "What's Love Got to do With It" and "Private Dancer" are my favourite songs of hers. "I Want to Take You Higher" was the first big hit (in 1970) for Ike & Tina Turner. Rest in peace Anna Mae Bullock and thank you for paying tribute to her.

There is a really cutting tribute and article about her formidable strength as a woman and artist, written in Rolling Stone. It is how rappers use her hard life as a punch line, including some big names I can never see the same way again. Jay Z is one of them. I found this ironic since Beyoncé considers Tina her idol and they perform together one time. Of course Beyoncé is married to Jay Z. I would love reactions from rappers on that article.
