    5:43 So, he gave up smoking at 45, stopped drinking at 59, gave up red meat (probably went on a low cholesterol diet) at 69, and died at 77. That actually sounds totally reasonable.

    Yeah, I mean, once you get to that kind of age, that's probably where you start seeing the consequences of your life choices. It's easy to think your body can take anything while you're still in your 20's or early 30's.

    That's your subjective opinion; I'm sure there are Gen Z's who would disagree with you. HUmor is subjective and relative what you think is good humor differs from person to person and what is consider funny changes from generation to generation. For example Archie Bunker is a character from All In The Family that's extremely racist and people found it funny in the 70s. That wouldn't fly these days because people are less racially insensitive these days then they were in the 70s. @@osheridan

    12:59 this strip is actually from a belgian comic called "imbattable" (unbeatable) wich was translated to "mister invincible". It credits itself as only being possible in comics as the superhero's sole power is the ability to go through panels. It's actually pretty original and quite smart with the usage of this power and others like it.

    7:39 One of my mom's (many) cats, Max, had horribly mutilated his claws by constantly trying to sharpen them in wooden shelves that were far too tough to run them through. He just kept making them worse and putting them in more pain, which made him want to sharpen more to get rid of that pain. He was much more lively after he got declawed and I'm sure he's happier for it. These medical procedures exist for the purpose of improving the animals' lives; not for your selfish desire to stop getting pricked by your cat. Besides, cats can not only bite you, but can also punch you, so you are not any safer from their wrath for longer than a month, anyway.

    7:40 Okay funny as the comic is fr don't declaw your cats. It's a surgical procedure which removes *part of their toe,* the entire first knuckle in fact. Not to mention if your cat somehow gets outside (don't think you're immune the occasional accident, it can happen whether you let them out or a guest or child did), they will be missing their main line of defense. Not only this, but studies have found cats that are declawed are more likely to experience depression and anxiety, wobbly balance etc, they are *genuinely distressed and hindered* by their lack of claws and toes. And other than this there is a possibility the claw will still grow despite missing the first knuckle or anywhere for the claw to *come out* and will keep growing continually so you'll have to take your cat to the vet again to what may look like a painful tumor in their paw removed. Don't look up pictures, I assure you that you do NOT wanna see what it looks like. Downright nauseating. I've heard people argue that declawing isn't any different from spaying or neutering, but the fact is it simply isn't the same at all. There are far more cons to leaving them in tact when you don't intend to breed them than getting them 'fixed'. There are a decent amount of health issues that crop up, not to mention their lifespan can be shortened by sexual activity. It's not just beneficial to the owner to get them spayed/neutered, but declawing is a purely selfish and superficial procedure people make when they don't want to deal with issues they really should have known very well they'd have to deal with when purchasing or adopting their kitty. Female cats particularly can have their health impacted by pregnancies, and male cats experience *more anxiety* when not neutered. They are more territorial, more stressed, and more likely to spray around the house outside the litterbox than a neutered cat, which doesn't have all those hormones driving them to freak out about every strange cat they might so much as smell through the door.

  • @Wolfsschamane

    That's not really why it's a problem though, they are only in pain if your vet sucks and like with any other surgery it can cause infections, taking care of it appropriately is necessary. The problem is that when declawing your cat you are amputating the outer most bone in their paws for each claw, it's like cutting off the part of our fingers with nails on. It changes how they can walk. It literally disfigures your poor cat. That's why it's animal cruelty, not because surgeries cause pain...

  • @cassandra2860

    @cassandra2860

    Declawing is roughly equivalent to removing the cat's first knuckle. If you wouldn't partially amputate every finger on someone's hands for wrecking a couch, you wouldn't declaw a cat.

    7:39 To be clear, any Leslie Nielsen film that’s a comedy is good. If I remember right, he used to be more typecast as the leading man in serious/romance movies. Airplane! was his first comedy movie and what started his career as a comedy actor. I think they got him for that movie partially because they wanted someone who audiences would associate with being serious.
