r/Entitledparents Karen Called the Cops on Me... But SHE Got In Trouble!

r/Entitledparents In today's episode, OP's neighbors run a car restoration shop out of their garage. The neighborhood Karen and her spoiled son decide that they want to buy the garage property so they can build a house. When the car mechanics refuse to sell their garage, Karen and her son become enraged! They call the cops on OP and claim that he is doing illegal crimes without any evidence. Unbeknownst to Karen, the mechanics had installed security cameras, which reveals that Karen was lying to the cops, so SHE got in trouble.

@@purplecrayonismine2585 Knowing how to shoot is not a question of necessity. However, it does instill a sense of respect for firearms and leads to better firearm discipline in the future. Of course, accidents happen, and the father should not have left the kid there with the firearm but not supervision. As to the shooting range allowing a felon, the author said that it was a free-use range. It's probably no different from any other free use facility, bring your own stuff and come on in. It's not like the felon rented or borrowed a firearm from the range.

She emptied my Oma's bank account (for some reason she had power of attorney) and threw away her will. She also pitched a fit when my mom tried to get some things for me and my sister (We wanted something small to remember our Oma by). She made sure she was there to "supervise" us and make sure we didn't take anything she wanted despite mostly clearing the place out already. A cousins partner died and the partners parents decided they wanted pretty much everything their daughter owned as he wasn't a blood relative, they also said they paid for the washing machine and cooker therefore it was theirs now, and things that the couple paid half each for they wanted too. Basically they even wanted the carpet on the floor. The crazy thing is my cousin had to fight to keep the stuff as they got social work involved (and the Police at one point) and then the courts with claims that they gave "loans" for the cost of items (a lie) which hadn't been paid back therefore the items were theirs. Its crazy they even wanted every photo of her even the ones with her partner, or her with friends they seemed to want to erase her from my cousins memory, imagine having to deal with that after your partner died.

Joke's on you, if a .22 ricochets off your rib it can bounce around/ shatter and cause a fuck ton of internal damage. It's considered shit because it 'doesn't have any stopping power', often recommended for women due to very minimal recoil and blast. Whereas a 9 mil often can and will go straight through, depending on where you were hit and from what distance, and how heavy a bullet it was. With that I mean how much gunpowder there is in each bullet, as there are also bullets with reduced amounts. We are legally obligated to use those on our indoor ranges in the Netherlands. Ohhhh this reminds ME of something that happened. So when I was in 7th Grade, my older brothers and I missed the bus. So my sister was gonna drive all of us there. So we were less than two minutes walking distance, when this 18 wheeler starts to back up. We laid down on the horn to let him know that WE were right behind him, ON A HIGHWAY, and that he couldn't back up. And what did this jerk do? HE BACKED HALFWAY INTO OUR HOOD!! I was so shocked that I didn't even talk. My sister was making sure we were all okay. He got outta the truck, and came over, and this is how it went: D: Hey, I'm sorry that I backed into you, but why didn't you try and stop me? A: I did. I honked my horn at you sir, and you continued to back up. We couldn't back up because there's people behind us. D: Oh sorry, I didn't hear you. My sister then proceeded to ask for his insurance info, and the dude gave it to her. D: Listen, I don't see what the big deal is. That's probably only a $100 repair. S: I need you to hold tight, I'm calling the cops. D: Look, can I just give you the $100 and leave? I have places to be. S: I'm sorry, but you can't leave. I just stared, too shocked at everything that had just happened to say anything. I looked at the guy, and he just smiled and waved! He didn't even ASK about if anyone was okay! The jerk just wanted to leave! My sister rolled up her window, and called 911. She gave the address she was close to, and they said they'd be on their way. She then called our mother, who rushed over from her job. The dude STILL tried to back outta this by saying that he would give her $100 and be on his way, but my sister made him stay. When the Cops showed up, they started talking to my sister and the driver. My mom showed up in our van(It looks like the A-Team van if you know what that is) She got us out of the car, and asked if everyone was okay. It finally sunk in that we could have died, and I cried while hugging my mom. The Cops asked my sister if we could make it back to the house in the car safely, so that they could get things situated and not cause a scene. My sister said she'd try, but didn't know. My Mom loaded the three of us into the van, and drove us to school. I managed to stop crying before getting there. You know, the part that strikes me as the worst of this wasn't him actually backing up a bunch into our hood, but the fact that he DIDN'T CARE TO ASK IF WE WERE OKAY!!!

Regarding story 1, while a .22 bullet is a small bullet, the caliber alone doesn't determine how much damage is done. OP was shot with a .22 short. It has less gun powder than a full size .22 or a .22 magnum. Less gun powder means less punch, less power. The bullet penetrated OP's leg, but didn't go all the way thru. Had it been a full size .22 that OP was shot with, there likely would have been an exit wound. Also, when any bullet goes thru something, the exit wound is larger than the entry wound. Much larger usually. I watched a video in a hunter safety course when i was a kid that demonstrated the power of a regular .22 bullet. Six 2x4's were put together, stood up like a post, then shot with a regular .22 bullet. Not a short or a magnum, just a regular .22 round. It put a neat little hole in the front of the first board, but left a big splintery hole in the back of the last board. If i tecall correctly, it also separated the boards from one another and splintered the ones in the middle pretty good too. OP is lucky ít was a .22 short or his injury could have been much worse. Pretty sure I've watched this vid before but don't recall if i already posted regarding story one. If i have ending up repeating myself, I do apologize.

Oh my God. First story about OP getting shot with a .22 brought back a crazy memory. My brother was at a friends house and they had a .22 rifle that one very close friend was assured was unloaded while he handled it and had it aimed downward towards the floor. When he went to turn and put the rifle back into the cabinet the barrel path as he swung it around went past my brothers leg and “POP!!!”, off the thing went!! My brother said it slowly started to feel like someone was running a lighter flame through his leg. They tied off above it tight and sprinted to the hospital. The bullet went right through his leg and luckily missed anything vital as well as missed the bone. Thank God. Our close friend John was horrified that he just shot his best friend in the leg. My father was in China on business when my mother called and said to him, “Jim, don’t worry. John is OK, but he was shot in the…”CLICK!!! Dad hung up the phone and was on the first corporate jet home and instructed the pilots to fly DIRECTLY to our home airport. When he got home and found that John was indeed fine but with a hole in his leg, he got the entire story from our great friend that dad treated like family. That meant that he was also riddled in the same fashion all the rest of us got from dad with his hilarious sense of humor and timing. If you look at my last name and connect that with my brothers first name, John, you also get the name of one of our US Presidents that was shot by a man named Oswald. Since our friend shot our families “John Kennedy, after dad doing a great job of consoling him and convincing him not to feel so bad because it was an honest to goodness accident, take one guess what dad comes out with as a new nickname for our friend. “Well my boy, you shot John Kennedy. So from now on, I’m calling you Ozzie.” Our friend just rolls his eyes and simply had to laugh. “Oh THANKS Mr.K. Real funny.” And from then on dad was true to his word, lol. When ever he came by he called him Ozzie and it stuck. God I miss my parents and so do all my friends. Those two were absolutely awesome. I couldn’t have asked for a better childhood. Yeah, I got my ass beat, but when I did, I definitely deserved it, lol. But when right after punishment was meted out, two minutes later it was, “So where do you want to go for a nice steak dinner? Oh wait!! You can’t go!! You’re grounded! I’ll take your brother and a few friends. They can tell you all about it. Maybe I’ll get you a doggie bag.”. Such a dick sometimes, lol. Knew EXACTLY how to rub it in. I wouldn’t change one day of any of it for all the money in the world. Love and miss you every day Mom and Dad!! ❤️😎❤️

They story about the family pillaging a dead woman's belongings brought back some memories from when my mom died. No entitlement here, just irritated with behavior. My sister gave me a chance to go through my mom's jewelry before my aunts got there. I took a single advertising pin, while my wife got a silver ring. Sister said I should take the gold, but my wife is allergic to gold, so we only took a silver ring, and the aunts got the gold. My wife was upset because this was barely 24 hours later, and my wife put it best: "they're erasing her". Granted mom was a bit of a hoarder, but it felt too soon. Again, no entitlement, just bad memories from a lost loved one, and too short of notice with cleaning out the house.

My mother ALWAYS wanted to know where I was and who i was with. Is it pushing a boundary/trust to follow your child? Yes. But at the same time, a parent worries. My older brother died at 35 years old because he fell down the stairs and NO ONE found him until a coworker broke through the window when he went knocking on the door looking for my brother because he was "late" to work. Saw someone lying on the ground, and the injuries my brother suffered while waiting for help (his phone had fallen away and he was too weak after a flight of stairs to crawl to it), and the co-worker had to go to church immediately after calling 911 and waiting for them to arrive. So I understand ENTIRELY why, no matter the age you are, that a parent asks every fucking detail. If you don't answer in a reasonable time, they have the right to worry further, and in case of the worst thing going down, they knew who was last with you and where potentially, you last were with them.

Getting shot is never fun, but remember caliber (bullet size) does not determine lethality. Energy delivered is the killer. A 22 magnum is the same size as a 22LR, but is much more lethal because of it's speed.

Man! Shock is a crazy thing. The apartment I used to live in (up until December of this last year) was on the second floor. One night I went out, around 11:30 pm, just to get my mail, however, because the apartment complex had not replaced the light bulb, in the big light above the corridor, where there were two downstairs apartments and two upstairs apartments. We had repeatedly asked them to change out the bulb, but to no avail. When I went out that night, to get my mail, I missed a step and fell down the stairs. Somehow I ended up about 5 or 6 feet away from the stairs. I remember hitting the ground, right on my hip. I had a feeling something was wrong, but I wasn’t sure what. I could move leg and foot, but I started to think that maybe I had broken my femur or my hip. I even remember thinking, “I don’t want to go to the ER. I will have to wait forever to be seen, when it is probably nothing, and then my parents would have to be awakened, so they could drive me home.”I had my wallet, my keys, and my phone, with me, when I fell, and I know the smart thing to do would have been to just stay where I was, and call 911. However, pain can make your mind funny, especially when you are in shock and not feeling the extent of your injuries. I felt scared being out on the concrete, in the dark. I decided to go back upstairs to my apartment, so I dragged myself, little by little, up the stares to my apartment, crying and screaming. Now this is when the pain reared its ugly head! I almost didn’t make it up the stairs. I was screaming and sobbing, and no one heard me, or chose not to help. I had good neighbors, so I doubt it was the latter. I had to drag my leg upstairs, and I swear, my body was like “F-you!” and it quit on me. I was lying right in front of my door, so I tried as hard as I could to raise up enough to punch in my code to open the door. We didn’t have keys, there. We all had keypads to type a code, of our choosing, to open the door. I managed to roll myself into my doorway, and then I closed the door. I stayed on the floor, right in front of the door, because I literally couldn’t move any further. I was still crying very loudly from the pain, that was on full display, now. I then used my cell phone to call 911. The EMS guys came to get me, extremely fast, but I had a feeling that one of them didn’t believe I was hurt as much as I was showing. They kept trying to examine my hip and upper leg (femur) . I was just in so much pain that every time they touched me I screamed. They got this chair that they were able to put me in, so I could stay in the exact position I was in, and then they put me in an ambulance, and away we drove. When we got to the ER, they did X-rays, and I had a broken hip and fractured the upper part of my femur bone. They tried to give me pain medication, but nothing worked. They had no open ER rooms, so they left me on a gurney, in the hall, from around 2:00 in the morning, until 5:00, at night, when they took me into surgery. They had to replace the top of my femur, and they did a total hip replacement, as well. It was bad. My surgeon told my parents, while I was in recovery from the surgery, that this was a crucial time for me, at this point. He explained that if I were to fall again, I would be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. No pressure, there!! After the surgery, I stayed in the hospital for about two weeks, and then I stayed in an inpatient rehab center for two more weeks. I cried almost everyday, because I didn’t know what my life was going to look like after all of that. However, my parents are amazing humans!! They paid people to pack up my apartment for me, then move it all to a ground floor apartment, in a different complex, where I am paying $300 less than what I was paying at the previous apartment,, plus, I was already handicapped before all of this, but the parking space, right in front of the door to my new place, has been amazing, because I used to have to park wherever I could find a space, if the one handicapped space was full, and then I still had to walk up a trail, and up a flight of stairs. I found my new apartment online, but we were going in cold, by paying the application fees, the deposit, and the first month’s rent. We did it all with only pics online to see. We were thrilled, when we finally saw my new apartment, on the ground floor. It is perfect, and I have been doing physical therapy, twice a week, where the therapist comes to me, ever since I moved into my new apartment. I am so grateful to everyone who helped me in my time of need, especially my parents. TLDR: falling down the stairs and breaking your hip is not as fun as people might think. 10 out of 10, I wouldn’t break my hip again. Oh, and shock is a very peculiar thing.

On that last story I would have told my parents this "I am 21 years pf age. I can buy and drink alcohol. So I can do what I please so song as it causes no physical harm. If you keep stalking me I will call the police and swear out a complain for harassment and invasion of privacy." "But we're your parents." Don't care I have a right to go anywhere in public unless the owner of that property asks me to leave. If you doubt this, then you can ask the judge. End of conversation." If they started with a rebuttal, I would say "talk to the hand because I'm not listening." They want to say, "You live under our roof and will abide by our restriction." I would have said. Then I'll move out and be gone in 2 weeks or less. If I can't find a place then I will sleep on the street. But I *WILL NOT* tolerate being treated like a child.

First story: kudos to the kid for being honest and not ending up an entitled kid despite his dad being entitled, but also why a convicted felon who isn’t allowed around guns thought it would be a good idea to go to a gun range with his kid is beyond me (also surprised they let him have his kid without having someone supervising them if he really is a felon). Last story: why do I get the feeling that OP’s parents r homophobic (even if they’re not admitting it) and r intentionally trying to ruin her dating life by stalking her, it just kinda seems like they (at least partly) wanted to make her date uncomfortable so she’ll leave OP or something, good thing OP planned around that this time lol Also, happy bday Rslash! Hope ur having a great day! 🎉🎊🎈

Lol, my mom had a story like the first one when she was a teenager. There was a skunk that had been harassing their dogs (small cattle dogs living in the country), and her dad was intent on shooting it with a 357 magnum. He sees the skunk, shoots, and the bullet hits against a rock and right into my mom's thigh. Ever so calmly, she says, "dad, I think you just shot me." He doesn't hear her, so she says louder, "dad, you just -" "Shh!" Eventually, she gets frustrated and yells, "Dad! You shot me!" He stops. Looks at her. Thinks about it. "You sure?" She had an empty space in her leg ever since.

The sister story reminds me a lot of my own family. Some are the type that only come around when they can get something and when my great grandma and grandma died they picked through everything and threw what they didn't want. They felt me and a few cousins didn't deserve anything because great grandma "spoiled' us aka we just spent the most time with her and while we weren't entitled to their belongings it hurt

The story about the sister that passed away... my grandfather on my dads side passed away. He was old and had many different medical problems. While we were at the funeral, his daughter, and my aunt, took a truck to my grandfathers house and took everything. The only thing left was a gas stove which she didn't have the specific tool for. After the funeral, we went to my grandfathers house and found everything gone. My aunt had to leave the state to avoid jail time. Now that my father is going down the same road, she has tried to talk him into letting her take care of him at HIS home. I know she will try the same crap all over again. My father is pissed at me and my aunt has continued to ignore me. Life is hard at times.

I have to say, the one about the gay couple and the Karen obsessed with some grown man bring naked in his house, OP has a right to be naked in his own home. Granted, I find it weird to think of someone walking around naked (I'm 100% okay with OP having a man whom he loves), but OP doesn't have to obey Karen. I feel like part of the issue is her neighbor walking naked in his own home, but a good portion must be living next door to a gay couple.

There was an incident on my local gun range several years ago. Apparently a member (the range was always locked and only members had keys) had been shooting plastic jugs (about the size of milk cartons) with an unauthorized weapon, in an unauthorized area. One bullet bounced off a jug, flew up in the air, and all the way to a restaurant about a mile away, where it grazed the stomach of a pregnant woman. A mark was left on her skin where the bullet had hit her, and she said that it felt like she had been stung by a bee. The shooter was expelled from the gun club, and it was temporarily closed. But there are enough anti-gun nuts in the local government that the range still hasn't re-opened several years later. (Mind you, this is in the most conservative county in the state.)

The story where the dad had a gash and shrugged it off, is 💯 exactly like my dad. He works with saws and nail guns and not once, not twice but 9 times got injured and wrapped it in brown paper towels and duct tape. Back when I was a kid, he was in a huge car wreck where a guy side swiped him and gashed his leg/calf deep. Did he go to the ER? Nope. Brown paper towels and duct tape with a splash of peroxide. Last major injury was a couple years ago and he pinch/ripped off the tip of his middle finger in a rotation machine. Out of pure adrenaline, he removed his glove and seen the injury. He calmly walked up to his boss (owner of company) and said: Uh...can I get off work early to get this checked out? I think it's bleeding bad. The guy almost fainted as my dad showed his bloody hand. This crazy man tried to drive himself but his boss refused and took him himself.

the .22 is actually a very deadly round and is called "The assassin's caliber". this is because it doesn't go through the body. when you get shot by it, doesn't have enough power to go through. it stays in your body. which can be more deadly.
